Racing Games Are More Harmful Than Shooting Games

Blend Games writes:

"Another research study has emerged, this time broadcasting the psychological effects of various video game genres. It's rather fascinating, to say the least. What's more surprising (as you'll soon discover) is that racing simulators seem to have more averse effects on gamers than shooting titles…well, duh."

well, that was a waste of a read. apparently everything is a "no-brainer" so I did not leave a smarter man.

in my over 30 years of gaming, i had to go to court twice because of driving incidences but never because I shot or attacked someone...

So if I shoot you in the head,I'm a murderer and I deserve to die. But if I run over you, then videogames made me do it. Is that what you're saying?

I've been a gamer for over 20 years and a big fan of racing games. I'm also a safe and responsible driver and I never felt tempted to do a barrel roll in real life, after playing too much Burnout Paradise.

Don't blame videogames for your mistakes.

you're reading a lot into a small comment... if you need to know, i once lost my license because driving 160km/h instead of 60km/h. that was after an extended session of Forza, the day it got released. you seem hardly 20 years old to be honest or where do you get the idea from that you have to go to court for getting a parking ticket?? not on the planet I live on...

You don't know me, you don't know who I am and most certainly you don't know how old I am. So don't act superior because you're not.

If you did 160 (!) on an area where traffic is limited to 60 km/h, then you deserved to get caught and you have only yourself to blame, not Forza. In fact if you can't tell apart real life from fiction, then maybe you shouldn't be behind the wheel. If you think you're so grown up, then act like it.

And FYI, you CAN go to court and/or get your possessions arrested for accumulating unpaid parking tickets.

Makes sense to me, when I play a racing game, motorstorm for example,
I get real pissed off if I constantly lose or crash(especially near the finish line). Most of the time you have to be in first place to move on to the next part of the game so it's more stressful. Shooters are far more simpler, I know I feel better when I put a bullet in the head of the guy who was killing me so much. Just my opinion.

Edit:'I never felt tempted to do a barrel roll in real life' Lol I just had a funny flashback bubbles.
