Marvelous published a new trailer from Muramasa: The Demon Blade introducing some game characters.
I love the graphics, but i think this game will be released only in Japan.
Its already confirmed to be released in the west.
Yep the game will be released in the west.
Same for Arc Rise Fantasia. Probably Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga too. Strange how the Wii has, rather suddenly, become the JRPGers system of choice this gen. The number of JRPGs being released this year alone convinced me to buy the system.
@ chris399 I guess all the JRPG developers are losing a lot of money on ps3 and x360 rpg's. They sell very little in japan and practically none at all outside of japan. So it's prob cheaper (especially) for a small dev to make'em on the wii. I bet their budgets aren't in the millions.
Damn I need to get a Wii for this game. lol. Hopefully its on par with odin sphere.
Wow, better graphics than the 360.
I hope they get this released here quickly. I loved Odin Sphere and the Grim Grimore and this game looks to surpass them both in both style and setting.
The game looks beautiful, but the ultra short levels are turning me off from it. I hope it ends up being great, but watch some of the gameplay trailers and there seems to not be much depth to it. The levels are look to be about 2 screens wide.
that it was a trailer ? how can you judge the size of the levels when you didn't play the game ? maybe what you saw was a intro stage ? maybe it was a well made cut in the trailer ...
The gameplay videos you saw were just small parts of larger levels meshed together. The real levels within the game are going to be longer and involve platforming as well. That gameplay trailer you saw back at TGS was just a demo to show people many environments in a short time period and get used to the controllers. Oboro Muramasa comes out April 9 in Japan. And it looks to be one of the top games this year, on any system!
Sooooo pretty. I do wonder why there haven't been more games on the Wii that take advantage of what it can do rather than let it struggle with what it can't. More hand drawn style and graphic art style games and they'd look really cool on the system whereas trying for lush photo-realism tends to be underwhelming. Muramasa looks like being a great little game and I think it's in for a 2009 release in the west as well as Japan(obviously later over here but not too long after). Should be good if OS is your yardstick in any case.
