IGN GDC 09: Water Warfare Hands-on

IGN writes: "Hudson recently released Onslaught, WiiWare's only first-person shooter. The publisher aims to deliver the platform's second first-person shooter this summer, although it will be quite a different experience. Water Warfare plays very much like other shooters out there, but it arms players with water guns instead of, you know, tools of murder. Hudson describes it as a "first-person soaker" (really, it does). We spent some time drenching a few AI opponents today, and while the concept may seem cheesy we found the controls worked well and we like the idea of a completely non-violent, inoffensive shooter."

Hmm, I would have thought Water Warfare would have more players because it's generally considered better.

The only bad thing is that it usually takes a while to get into a match.:(

If you manage to get one going though it's immense fun. I should really exchange friend codes with some peeps.:P

A guy from another site said the same thing about it taking a while getting into matches now.

Maybe we should get Water Warfare and exchange codes with some others.
It looks like a decent game for the price.

Nintendo Okie: Water Warfare Review

Nintendo Okie writes: "Most first person shooters are geared toward an older audience that has no problem seeing limbs blown off and blood all over the environment. Hudson is trying to increase the size of the shooter audience by creating an FPS geared toward children. Water Warfare is a typical first person perspective game where instead of lead flying all over the place, players engage in a giant water gun fight."

GamesRadar: Water Warfare Review

Online it's really not bad at all, with only occasional and very minimal lag. This is providing you can find anyone to play with and don't mind the lurid environments. Or the lack of blood spurting from sockets where limbs used to be attached.
