WOW!!! What a childish comment, you're either a fanboy or you have never played the series. The R&C series is one of the best going right now and every game in the series has been great( except Deadlocked, and that one is still good).

If you're talking about Quest for Booty, I read it's 4,5 hours. It still might be on sale for $9.99. I played about an hour and it looks freaking amazing. I think it was also on disc in Europe and Asia.

J&D was last gen Uncharted is this gen and another great new IP next gen.

That's just the way Naughty Dog works. They could sell the rights to J&D or have another dev team make it like Daxter for the PSP. I'd rather ND focus on U2 & U3 than Jak 4.

There was an article on N4G about a month ago, it was an interview with Ted Price and he claimed Insomniac is sticking with SONY for this generation.

Besides why would Insomniac, one of SONY's loyalest developers and one of their first do that? It's like Bungie making Halo 4 for PS3, it ain't gonna happen!

Also Insomniac and SONY were kinda talking smack about Microsoft last summer. Claming ONLY the PS3 had Next Generation Quality.

I often ask myself the same, most recent 3D platformer to interest me was 'The Maw'. Platforming fans should really check that one out, I think its on PC now too, I'd buy it again if it was to come out on PS3.

Well we always can still hope for JAK to get announced and give us at least a taste of more platforming...

The next ALICE game is in production,and that has platforming elements.

Earthworm JIM 4 is supposedly in the works,last I heard.

Perhaps after Infamous we will hear that Sly cooper will be getting a next gen face-lift?

Insomniac's next game (new IP) a possible third game from them, has been rumored to be a act/adv RPG with platforming. Thats rumored.so take it with a grain of salt.

Media Molecule could come up with a new IP?With them you would have a chance at something special and being platformed based.

Warren Spector is working with Disney.If I recall,it was something to do with a certain Disney mouse.Not certain,but you can always hope...

And ODDworld-inhabitants is going to be back,not anytime soon,but someday,with Citizen siege probably just act/adv) and another Oddworld game based on Oddworld....

No announcement is needed, it came at the end of the quest for Booty game. Either way it is great news though, the series is brilliant (though Quest for Booty was a little short, showing the series is better as a full game).
I don't want a drastic change to the series but a small one wouldn't be bad. It's not changed too much over the years. Brilliant series though, one of my favourites.

Can't say I'm excited for this. I'd much rather have a new Jak & Daxter or Sly Cooper (Unfortunately Insomniac makes neither).

I mean, in just seven years we have had:

Ratchet & Clank (Nov 2002)
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (Nov 2003)
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (Nov 2004)
Ratchet: Deadlocked (Oct 2005)
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (Feb 2007)
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (Oct 2007)
Secret Agent Clank (Jun 2008)
Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty (Aug 2008)

That's 8 games in 7 years, not counting the Size Matters port. I own all of them except SAC and QfB, and the series is really getting stale. It always seems to have the same weapons as well (You start with a semi-automatic rifle and an AOE bomb, and eventually get a shockwave gun, something that transforms the enemy, a glove that spawns miniature clankbots, etc.).

I guess if it sells...

I personally haven't found it getting old yet this many games in, but R&CF:2 needs more variation in levels and as much changes as R&C2 had from R&C and have multiplayer again. I think that Deadlocked and Quest for Booty were really good experiments both played totally different only playing as Ratchet.

...beavis4play if you think THAT cliffhanger was bad, play Quest For Booty if you haven't yet. That one really gets you riled up.

I could REALLY do with a new Jak, though.

the next R&C. Easily my most favorite exclusive on the PS3. This is the only game on any platform that I have beaten over, maybe, 100 times just because it is so dang fun.
