NowGamer: NowGamer talks to BigBig game director Richard Ogden on his snow-fuelled portable iteration of Motorstorm.
Motorstorm is a series that's made its mark by taking advantage of the PS3's hardware, so what are the key things you have to consider when transferring it to a portable console with limited graphical capability?
Given our history on PSP with the Pursuit Force series we were well placed to take on the task. Early on we realised that we would be able to bring the full MotorStorm experience to PSP. No need to make a 2-D, top-down version or anything like that! The main area to deal with is the graphics and visuals – we have to use lower resolution textures and less polygons in our models, but in such a way that it's still going to look great on the small screen.
Carl Williams writes, "The PlayStation Portable was Sony’s first stand alone portable and boy was it a special platform. The power of this bad boy was about on par with the PlayStation 2 console, could play PSOne titles, had a large library (over 1,300 games worldwide), and it was one of the first portables to offer Internet surfing out of the box. That red PSP always looked beast. xD Its games are the best for mobile entertainment. Something the Vita surely needs currently.
Really great choices but I would've swapped out liberation with Disgaea or a persona game... PES 3 was amazing on vita...too bad there was no free roam:(

Wow not fair dude. I mean I own a PSP and it's great to see a MotorStorm title coming to PSP but I wanted some arctic levels in Pacific Rift too. Meh.
