I love these people Man>Company of men

Jrome5943d ago

I don't..if companies didn't have to waste time worrying about them, they could be building better browser O_O. The again getting companies to improve security doesn't hurt either.

Stalemate.

First to go was Safari, then IE8 and Firefox. And those were default installations, too. (Last year Safari went down with default install, but IE and Firefox required Flash, and similar plugins to be installed in order to be vulnerable)

As far as I know Opera and Chrome hasn't gone down, yet.

However I don't think I'm changing browsers anytime soon. I remember, even when Firefox used to occupy 2GB of my memory, that I did not switch.

Opera and Chrome haven't been hacked by these guys...

...but there's very little protection on either of them from viruses.

That's why I'm still with Firefox.

Not Surprised.Other then marketing Microsoft can't do anything right.

"Nils has hacked Internet Explorer 8, along with Safari and Firefox"

"Nils exploited all three of the browsers within 30 minutes"

You can't just leave out the other two.

But the record goes to...

"...breaking into Apple Inc.'s Safari in under 30 seconds"

Jager5942d ago

Whoa LMAO.. Damn Apple, Damn... Nils destroyed Safari like a fat kid on cake...

GamerPS3605943d ago

easy to break than to make.

is that IE8 is just out. The others have a few years under their belt so are more familiar to hackers.

I don't get where MS has any rep as a good software company any more. If they ever had one in the first place.

From a gaming perspective, Microsoft single-handedly ushered in the PC gaming era with DirectX 10 years ago that everyone follows today: OpenGL is an API that is derived from DirectX. From a business perspective, MS Office revolutionized the business and education sectors for life that would forever let know the words "Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint". From a political perspective, our Department of Defense uses Windows XP in their security servers. In Aviator simulation, Microsoft Flight Simulator is pretty much bar-none to everything sim game out there in flight.

Microsoft didn't crown themselves "King Monopoly" for nothing. Don't let IE8 (and possibly the 360) distort your vision from the rest of Microsoft's successes over the past 10 years.

You are seriously delusional and should lay off the microsoft kool-aid

"From a gaming perspective, Microsoft single-handedly ushered in the PC gaming era with DirectX 10 years ago that everyone follows today: OpenGL is an API that is derived from DirectX."

OpenGL was developed and released by SGI in 1992 and DirectX was first deployed in September 1995. Microsoft Office didn't revolutionize anything just copied. Lotus 1-2-3 and Wordperfect/Wordperfect Suite all dominated the industry throughout the late 70's to the early/mid 90's. The DoD uses mostly Unix and other OSS operating systems, tools and software. OK time for me to go now and thanks for the laugh. kthxbye
