Portable Gamer Review: Payback

The Portable Gamers write:

"You may not have heard of Payback, but it is a game with a rich history.

Apex Designs originally designed it as a Grand Theft Auto clone for the Amiga platform, before beginning to port it to other OSes, including the GP2X, the far more well-known GBA, and now the iPhone. This iPhone release represents the first real opportunity for John Q. American Public to play this game, and I must say, we have missed out!"

So.. it's pretty much a GTA clone yeah?

bgrundman5887d ago

Everybody loves a good GTA ripoff :P

CrAppleton5887d ago

Yeah.. I suppose you're right about that.. and the reviewer says they do it well.. so it may be worth grabbing for 5 bucks

roblef5887d ago

Yeah, but a GTA clone for $5 that you always have with you!

bgrundman5887d ago

It looks like the iPhone may be a budding platform for open world games... who would have thunk it?

CrAppleton5887d ago

Well.. iPhone is beginning to dominate the freekin portable nation

I prefer play the original more than this

RE3 need another remake

DivineHand12544d ago

Why not port RE4 remake to meta quest 3?

Profchaos44d ago

Because the headset isn't capable of running it simply put it's not powerful enough.

Look at metro awakening on quest 3 that's pushing it to its extreme and it's quite far behind PC and PS for graphical capabilities.

Profchaos44d ago

Wow I thought they would abandon this as the sales for village and 4 were abysmal

JEECE44d ago

For whatever reason and despite all evidence to the contrary, their are some companies bent on convincing themselves and others that people want to play premium games on Apple devices.

VersusDMC44d ago

It's assumed apple is paying for the ports. Apple probably paid a lump sum for all the RE games so capcom is just finishing up the contract.

Or maybe Capcom sees this as port practice for the switch 2 or these ports are what the switch 2 versions will be?
