When Eve receives a note from her father asking her to come and visit his estate, she gets more than she bargained for when she discovers a portal that takes her to the fantasy realm of Crystal Valley. Not only that, but the inhabitants seem to know her father well! You'll join Eve as she searches for her father – and a way home – in The Legend of Crystal Valley, a point-and-click adventure game from Cateia Games and Sandlot Games.
GamersInfo would not recommend spending money on The Legend of Crystal Valley. The awkward navigation combined with the less-than-fabulous writing makes for a "meh" experience. The graphics are nice enough but certainly not mind-blowing. The ending has an exciting twist, but it's not worth the time and effort required to get there. Feel free to pass it by in favor of something a little more polished.
Casual gaming revived the point and click game and in doing so, reinvented it for a new audience; many of whom haven't even heard of Monkey Island. Often, this has proved not to be as great as it sounds, but luckily games like The Legend of Crystal Valley are beginning to change that.
Diehard GameFAN had a great time playing The Legend of Crystal Valley. Sure, it's a short romp, but you won't regret the time spent playing. They have to give props to the Cateia Games developers for coming up with such a good product with such a small team, as everything they have seen shows that a lot of efforts went into the product. Despite some technical shortcomings, the game is still a joy from start to finish, so all they can do is give it their highest recommendations.
