If you've been using computers for a while, you've probably run into some form of mahjong solitaire. It may have been called Taipei or Shanghai, and it may have tricked you into thinking that mahjong, the intricate four-player ancient Chinese gambling game, is a tedious exercise in matching symbols. Well strap on your safety helmet, because the intense challenge of being able to identify two things that look alike has arrived on the PlayStation Network in the form of Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom.
Diehard GameFAN: Well, my column about March is coming in at the tail end of April. Why is this one so late? Well, in April alone I’ve written twenty articles. This is my twenty first and Mortal Kombat for the PS Vita will be my twenty-second, so as you can see I’ve been extremely busy. I haven’t even remotely touched my backlog this month, so there won’t be a “Clearing Out the Backlog” column in May. That said, I’m taking all of May off, so June should have a pretty long column – most likely filled with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and Skylanders. Both of which should have been played in March but…personal stuff happened and I ended up being up able to play any console games for most of March and April.
A clumped mass of games is hitting PSN next month, and a lot of it is free to PS Plus subscribers. Including Awesomenauts, the multiplayer battle arena style game from the creators of another former freebie a la PS Plus called Swords & Soldiers.
The list of free games goes on and on, most likely totaling somewhere in the range of $100 worth. For PS3 gamers that have not yet signed up for a Plus subscription may want to consider next month as the best time to do so.
Remember though, nearly all PS Plus freebie are only free for a one week period, thereafter going for the full price, so you want to be punctual.
