Blorge writes: "The price of Blu-ray Disc movies and television box sets are dropping rapidly, and set to drop even further over the next four years. But with the economy in the state it is, and technology shifting as fast as it is, will it be enough to save the format from the proverbial scrapheap?Blu-ray is doing well. As a young format, it's starting to shift, and getting in many people's homes. "The price of Blu Ray dropping, but is it enough?"
Enough for...what?
Enough to win the support of all the movies studios? Oh, that already happened.
Enough to win the format war? Oh, that already happened.
Enough to increase market share above 10%? Oh, that already happened.
Enough to beat DVD's adoption curve? Enough to increase HDTV sales? Already happened.
I'm just curious what "enough" means to the author of this article...
And saying "Well...sales are still behind DVD" is idiotic and it's grasping at straws. Of COURSE it's behind DVD! DVD was behind VHS for many years, yet few sung its doom.
These articles always try to herald Digital Downloads as the coming apocalypse for Blu Ray. Of COURSE DD will overtake Blu Ray...in 20 years. Oh! Oh! Oh! And implanting the movie directly into your mind will overtake DD! Oh! Oh! So don't buy into the DD fad!!!
