GamesWeasel writes: "If you're looking for a game to compliment your current copy of Geometry wars for DS, Wii or 360 then you can't go wrong with XG Blast. I don't know if the basic story line is different enough to make it an essential purchase if you already own GW but there's certainly nothing hear that would disappoint old or new GW arcade shooting loving alike. XG Blast for DS does achieve what it set out to do (be an interesting Geometry Wars clone) but drops the ball on adding some extra functionality, online high scores and multiplayer modes would have added some much needed longevity to the game".

Tech-Gaming: XG Blast! Review

Along with the DS iteration of Geometry Wars: Galaxies, XG Blast! is a capable portable shooter which deserves consideration by any action-game aficionado. Ignore the game's lackluster box art, and minimal marketing efforts- this is one of those exceptional minor titles which rivals the efforts from major publishers.

Jeremy writes in his review: "Every once in a while, I like to try and review a Nintendo DS game that was released that no one has ever heard of. Sometimes you get lucky and find something that is actually good. Other times, not so much. In some cases, you find a game that is almost an exact clone of a game that is fairly well known. XG Blast is one of those clones."
