Make no mistake, MadWorld isn't just a re-warmed beat 'em up with a painted-on coat of nihilism. It's got an entertaining story that skewers our reality show-obsessed culture, equal-opportunity offensive humor that could make a Marine blush, and a dazzling visual style. It evokes the better elements of early '90s brawlers and updates them with a sensibility tailor-made for the Wii.
It's got some annoyances -- a game of this nature is bound to get repetitive, some of the mini-games are duds, and the camera can become genuinely irritating at times -- but generally, MadWorld offers plenty of blood-spattered fun.
Beneath all the Smash and shovelware, the Wii really did have quite a few gems.
Not a bad list.. I would add Excitebots, Kororinpa 1 & 2, Bit.Trip series, Geometry Wars: galaxies
Keanu Reeves appearing in the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 is far from the strangest celebrity video game appearance. Game Luster's Kate Mitchell highlights gaming's most unexpected voice acting moments.
Jerry from BagoGames says, "With Astral Chain coming out right around the corner for the Nintendo Switch, I couldn’t help but think about all the amazing games PlatinumGames has pumped out over the years. Some revered greatly, others panned by critics, but to me insane infatuation. These are my five favorite games from my favorite developer"
