MacLife Review: Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures

MacLife writes: "Developed by Traveller's Tales, Lego Indiana Jones was first published by LucasArts for the consoles (PS2, PS33, Xbox 360, and Wii) and handhelds (DS and PSP) in the summer of 2008. Feral Interactive's faithful port for Intel Macs (except the Mac mini) lets you play with the keyboard if you're a glutton for punishment, but we found that using a gamepad with analog control sticks gave virtually the same experience as playing on a console.

And it's a fun experience-the detailed, animated Lego characters couldn't be cuter, down to the tiny stubble on Indiana Jones' face. The humorous cutscenes retell the stories in a tongue-in-cheek and family-friendly manner-no blood, no Nazis, no faces melting off, and no still-beating hearts pulled from chests by witch doctors. However, you can't save your progress midlevel (you must complete a level to move on, although you get unlimited lives), and if you quit a level and retry it later, you're stuck watching all of its cutscenes again-no skipping allowed. "

I dislike the LEGO games after the first one I played. They are just cut and paste with a new skin- My son liked them so we had a few over the years .Star Wars, Lord of the Rings , Batman but after the first it just felt like an extension of the first game on an endless loop

They are ok games, but every single one of them are basically the same. I enjoyed Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 and then the complete collection, but every other one after that has just been the same thing and it got a little dull.

Lego Harry Potter should be on this list

My son loves these games

had a lot more fun with Lego Marvel Superheroes than any other lego game.

Might be partly due to the fact there wasn't a lot else to play on my new PS4 when it came out

LEGO Indiana Jones goes live on Xbox One Backwards Compatibility – Is it worth a return?

Carlos writes "Ah, Indi, you make your return, and whilst many people are likely to complain at the newest addition to the Backwards Compatible library - due mainly to the fact it isn’t one of the last remaining Call of Duty titles to arrive via the program - there will certainly be many others who will be excited by the addition."

I really liked using Vader and Starkiller in Soulcaliber. A full-blown Star Wars fighting game could potentially be fantastic.

I still have that game back in the closet. I liked it as a kid, but man it has some issues.

Secret Weapons over Normandy was new to me. That game must also be so old that it could run on a smart phone
