NYTimes - The 10 most important video games of all time

Mr. Lowood and the four members of his committee - the game designers Warren Spector and Steve Meretzky; Matteo Bittanti, an academic researcher; and Christopher Grant, a game journalist - announced their list of the 10 most important video games of all time: Spacewar! (1962), Star Raiders (1979), Zork (1980), Tetris (1985), SimCity (1989), Super Mario Bros. 3 (1990), Civilization I/II (1991), Doom (1993), Warcraft series (beginning 1994) and Sensible World of Soccer (1994).

The story is too old to be commented.

Where is Ultima???? this is the birth of RPG games as we know them... First real RPG and many things RPGs are still using to this day, 20 years later. Say what you want... Pick whichever you want.. there needs to a HARDCORE RPG on here (FF would be ok if it MUST be picked but I don't think it is anywhere close to the be all, end all of RPGs.. Yes FFVII was a great game but not a shining example of all RPGS.)

This sort of took me back for a second. I mean, we have whole classes devoted to Music Theory and Classic Films right??? That's even high school! Why not video games? IT'S PERFECT! I think we should help fight for this sort of widespread respect. Gamers need to be heard!!!
