GamesAreEvil: Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War II Review

GamesAreEvil writes: "One interesting feature is that you can have a friend join you and play the campaign co-op style. There is no matchmaking, so you will have to know your friend's Windows Live ID. Another downside is that your partner doesn't get to keep the rewards they earn when they go back to their own campaign. Other than that, command duties get split between you and your partner, allowing a little more flexibility to experiment with various tactics".

I've been trying NOT to buy this game since it showed up on Steam. This review is breaking down my resolve!

It's actually cheaper in stores than it is on Steam in the UK, so look around before you buy it.

Even the boxed version integrates with Steam, so there's really no point in getting the Steam version.

I think my hand may be forced and I will have to pick it up.

Looks pretty bad ass.. Too bad I don't game on PC

The Warhammer thing was not a plus for me. All i could picture was thousands of tiny little metal figures and a table full of sweaty, hormone-challenged boys in a small, dank room.

Good thing I can play my 360 at home.

That is a pretty harsh generalization, don't you think?

Really extensive thorough review. My hat's off!

It seems like all of the thoughts and opinions were well thought out and constructed. Great read!

I just don't feel like I have the time to devote to a game like this. I don't think I'm the only one... Does that factor into sales?

roblef4007d ago

I doubt it. Most of the peeps I've been listening to talk about this game have no house, wife, kids, etc. Lots of extra time for gaming. :)

Urgh.. too time consuming? Sounds about right.. but then again so are most of the games we play
