Bioshock 2 to take place in Atlantis?

After decompiling the Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams website, it looks like Bioshock 2 will have something to do with Atlantis because of a cross marked on a map with its exact location.

Always wanted to explore Atlantis, neat.

Unless it's like another one of Ryans Utopias...hmm.

Maybe im missing something, obviously, but where did those other dates come from? I read through all the data included on the site, nothing further :|

i wish they told us how they found that information so we could do it our selves. Also i see two more exes that don't have dates.

I'm pretty sure that cross is where Rapture was supposed to be. I think Atlantis is supposed to be in the north Atlantic, anyway, like if you were to draw a line between Nova Scotia and the UK it was supposed to be somewhere along there. I could be wrong, I mean it's a mythical continent , but I really feel that the X is supposed to mark Rapture.

Counter_ACT4007d ago

Rapture is in between Iceland and Greenland. Atlantis is meant to be in the mid atlantic. Look at the comparison image.

Mah yes. I always thought Rapture was closer to the US, but I'm sure I missed something, digging through those audio journals got tiring after a while.

I think the x marks rapture, and it just foreshadows Atlantis by its location, how obvious that if you're going to build an underwater city for artists, scientists and all round pure genius, why not build it where a mythical one was supposed to have existed. Obviously Andrew Ryan, been the egotistical maniac that he was, would build his glorious city on Atlantis's supposed location, just off the west coast of Ireland.

ASSASSYN 36o4007d ago (Edited 4007d ago )

The idea of Atlantis being located in Ireland was presented in the book Atlantis from a Geographer's Perspective: Mapping the Fairy Land (2004) by Swedish geographer Dr. Ulf Erlingsson from Uppsala University.

Here is your supposed alantis locations not just Ireland:

Lucreto4006d ago

There are numerous places Atlantis can be.

1. Off the coast of Ireland.
2. Middle of the atlantic .
3. Off the coast of Spain
4. In the Mediterranean the Island of Santorini.

I would say it would have been number 4.

Santorini or Thera was an Island that disappeared in a day and a night and inspired Plato of Atlantis.
