Such is the case with Taito’s Exit 2 and its lead character, known simply as Mr. ESC. At a glance, one would assume Mr. ESC-decked out in The Spirit-style overcoat and fedora-is the star of a fast-paced side-scrolling platformer made specifically for the casual games market. You’d be mostly right, other than the fact that Exit 2 is really a complex puzzle game more than it’s anything else. "
