Sony: Our PlayStation Exclusives Against Anyone's

Sony's senior VP (of marketing), Peter Dille, has stated that his company will be launching "the most aggressive marketing year in its history", this year. First with Killzone 2, then God of War 3.

Now, this does not mean that GOW3 will be launching in 2009; simply that the marketing will. However, seeing how late the company has left the push for KZ2, we wouldn't be surprised of the marketing started on launch day.

Equally interesting from Peter, is his contention that Sony "employs more people in development than Microsoft and Nintendo combined" and that this, according to Dille means that, "We'll put our exclusives up against anyone."

Fortunately Sony Can Back it up
The PS3 has the Best Exclusives !! No doubt

mint royale5539d ago

but I don't appreciate arrogance in PR statements. Sony best not go back to their arrogant 2005/6 stance. They lost alot of respect then but have been getting it back in my eyes recently with top quality games. I wish sony and microsoft would follow nintendo's line and stop talking crap about the other consoles.

spectyre5539d ago

I don't see his statement as arrogant. He's basically saying he thinks Sony's games are the best. He gets a hefty paycheck from Sony so what else is he supposed to say.

I happen to agree with him and the only thing I get from Sony is an empty wallet.

TOSgamer5539d ago (Edited 5539d ago )

@1.1 How can you say its an arrogant statement when you agree with him? But back on topic I haven't seen a single Killzone 2 ad and its only 4 days away. So I have doubts about this big marketing push they are talking about.

Whether they have the best exclusives or not in my opinion comes down to personal taste.

The only PS3 exclusives I would buy if they were on the 360 are MGS4 and Valkyria.

ape0075539d ago

I want gta 5 to be ps3 exclusive

gta is one of my favorite games ever

DJ5539d ago

He's showing Confidence, not Arrogance. I say Confidence because he's actually telling the truth. Sony's got the largest amount of high quality exclusives, many of which are Very innovative.

ToastyMcNibbles5539d ago

i dont watch tv but ive had my father and cousin both tell me they've seen the killzone 2 bullet ad...i just hope they continue to advertise the game heavily up to release and after

N4360G5539d ago

Nintendo doesn't talk crap because their console and games are just that, crap!!

1ikedamaster5539d ago

I disagree. Those are extremely arrogant remarks to make, then again that has been sony's attitude ever since they were beat to the punch this gen.

Lifendz5539d ago

I can't think of one 360 exclusive I would want so I guess it is all a matter of taste.

pippoppow5539d ago

Now it's time to stand up confidently and put a hurting on the competition. When there is truth behind it why not state it. So many fanboy pro 360 sites spewing misinformation on a constant bases requires a rebuttal. This years line up is looking superior to all others with the Wii second and the 360 a distant 3. Couple the lineup with all the other good things going for the PS3, it is looking to have quite a good year to say the least.

ThanatosDMC5539d ago

There's a ton of 30 second advertisements of PS3 games on veoh.

They have already started their Killzone 2 marketing campaign. I've seen two commercials already on TV. It's the bullet commercial. If God Of War 3 isn't enough for the public to go out and buy a ps3 for, than nothing is. NOTHING!!

soxfan20055539d ago (Edited 5539d ago )

God of War III is more likely to be a system seller than Killzone 2. GOW3 is an established franchise, and it is a platformer, which will appeal to more people. KZ2, while it may be a great game, might be a bit too hardcore to appeal the mainstream consumer who is on the fence as to which console to buy. On the other hand, both are M-rated, and killer apps are never rated M, so that may not help. Gran Turismo 5 on the other hand, if it delivers what is promised, may turn out to be the biggest system seller - if it is released in time to make a difference in the console wars.

SpoonyRedMage5539d ago

I think God of War is much more hardcore and has less potential to sell systems than Killzone 2. Killzone 2 has caught the interest of the wholly apathetic whereas most God of War fans have probably already got PS3s as it hasn't got as wide of an appeal.

InfectedDK5539d ago (Edited 5539d ago )

I agree - GoW 3 and Gran Turismo 5 will be the biggest system sellers.

Most of those who really loves games like God of War and Gran Turismo only owns a PS2 right now. (Maybe Wii or Xbox360 but they will probably switch).

PS3 system sellers top 15 in my oppinion:

01. Gran Turismo 5
02. God of War 3
03. Killzone 2
04. Grand Theft Auto IV
05. Metal Gear Solid 4
06. Final Fantasy XIII & Versus
07. LittleBigPlanet
08. Uncharted 1 & 2
09. Call of Duty 4 & 5
10. Resistance 1
11. Fifa 08 & 09
12. Assassins Creed
13. Guitar Hero
14. SingStar
15. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

I know there are many good games like, Warhawk, Heavy Rain, InFamous, Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, Folklore, Valkyria, White Knight Cronicles, M.A.G, Socom, Buzz, WarDevil, Yakuza 3, Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice, Demon's Souls, The Agency, L.A. Noire, Quantum Theory, Siren: Blood Curse, Africa, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Wipeout HD, Resistance 2, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Bioshock, Burnout Paradise and the list could go on!

But I believe those 15 is or have been the reason for people buying an PS3.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
