GuildWars:
"To our fans,
There have been some published rumors over the past few days about Guild Wars 2 delays, and I'm writing you today to set the record straight.
You've all seen announcements about restructuring at NCsoft West, and it's natural to wonder whether that restructuring impacts ArenaNet's Guild Wars 2 development. In fact, the reason NCsoft West is restructuring itself is so that the company can put all of its focus into its top-tier games like Guild Wars 2. Our team continues to grow, and has the strong support and financial backing we need to achieve our goal of making Guild Wars 2 the best online role-playing game ever created."
Wccftech talked to Guild Wars 2 Game Director Josh Davis about the learnings from the Secrets of the Obscure expansion and what's coming to the MMORPG.
The "slippery slope" debate has started, now we wait to see what ArenaNet does.
"ArenaNet and NCSOFT are today very happy and excited to announce that they have just released the "Secrets of the Obscure" expansion for their award-winning and critically acclaimed MMORPG "Guild Wars 2"." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Anet also announced the 5th expansion. "We’ve already started applying lessons from the development of Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure to our fifth expansion, which we expect to be released next year." From their site, been with this game since 1st beta, and announcing the 5th expansion so soon, the game is doing very well, plus the graphics are improved a bit now that it's on DX11🙃
quality over quantity.....no one said it was going to be easy taking down wow but it shall happen
Probably got something to do with them switching 3d engine at the end of 2008 . Along with some conceptual issues .
Still , i trust arena , and so do most people who played GW , however at this point they should (well not an obligation but still..) have released more infos or pics .
Total radio silence isnt good , unless they got nothing concrete to show ... wich spells doom for many promises they had for gw2 .
I still trust arena to deliver a good game , but i'm not entirely sure it will be the marvel promised at first .. aside from being subscription free
Im so glad they are taking their time with this game and are not rushing it out to make some quick easy money.
Im also glad to hear that GW2 is one of their top priorities and are putting thier resources towards it, if done right people could move from WOW to GW2 with the subscription free online.
A particular retailer in Canada is taking pre-orders for the impending release of GW2. They quote it is due in Sept, however they warned that it could readily be delayed for a Christmas release.
YES, I put my order in for it.
Scam, possibly. But generally they are a reputable company and have many outlets in many provinces.
Regards
