The original Xbox launched late in its hardware cycle-a year-and-a-half after the PlayStation 2's first sales, and three years after the ill-fated Dreamcast's introduction. Determined not to be late to the party the next time around, Microsoft planned to introduce the Xbox 360 in late 2005, putting it five years after the PS2 and right in line with where the next generation, historically, should begin.]]
More after the jump...
Nintendo Switch 2 stick drift is already an issue, but accessory makers are already working on magnetic joysticks.
I've never had stick drift in any controller I've ever owned. All my joycons (3 sets) from my Switch are perfectly fine. My Switch 2 ones are good. Never had a dualshock / dualsense have it (did have a dualshock get a stuck trigger once). Even my Valve Index controllers which were notorious for drift were fine for me.
The tech is already there. I had a couple of my PS5 controllers modded with Hall Effect modules and they work great. They should come standard with them these days but they don’t.
Cheap, frictionless sensors ALREADY exist. Why are they "working hard to combat stick drift"? Stick drift should be a thing of the past at this point. The technology is here...NOW. It has been...for YEARS! Why is stick drift even still spoken about? It shouldn't exist!
"Back in the innocent days of 2010, A World of Keflings was a fairly popular successor to A Kingdom for Keflings. I even wrote about it a few times in 2012! But the world of humans moved on, and NinjaBee's city-building/adventure game was last seen on the ill-fated Wii U in 2014. Fast-forward to the dark year of 2025, and not only is A World of Keflings coming to Steam, but there's already a playable demo! Perhaps the cheerful, no pressure gameplay that the Keflings bring is just what we need nowadays," says Co-Optimus.
It's been officially over 2,500 days since The Elder Scrolls 6 was revealed, and fans are still waiting for more than a logo and a mountain range.
It will come out in another 1000-2000 days or so. I’d rather they remake Morrowind. After they added quest arrows, sprint button, making stats lesser and the big nerfs to spells Elder Scrolls has been too simplified. They could change that with ES6 but I don’t have much faith in modern Bethesda. I would love to be wrong
nice article.
mmm, we'll i'll believe it when i see it.
1/ HD as standard
2/ built in wi-fi
3/ Large storage device Blu-Ray? or will they re-use the dead HD-DVD
4/ Powerful cpu/gpu that stays cool even if you play if for 8 hours straight.
5/ Killer Graphics
6/ Dedicated servers for my MP games.
If MS do that i may buy one. Although the PS3 has all of those things already.
Not too bad of an article. Although I disagree with the use of the Larrabee as the CPU as it should be used as the GPU. The other point of contention would be the use of GDDR5 over XDR for system memory. It would be a better combination to use GDDR5 for the Larrabee as a GPU and XDR as the RAM for main system RAM. Scary thing is aside from the actual CPU of the systems, updated Xenon for next XBox and updated Cell for next Playstation, the actual hardware specs may be very very close assuming both use the Intel Larrabee as the GPU. In any case the next gen is far enough away for things to change greatly in the semiconductor industry so it could be completely different than what folks think or hope for.
fail
Expect better than Ps4.
