You did not earn a trophy

Don't worry the Video Game Watchdog Team have not lost the plot, quite the contrary in fact, it seems SONY/Treyarch have lost the plot.

"Can you complete Heart of the Reich on Veteran mode for me please?" was the challenge. "Sure no problem" komp said, I've done it before.

The end result was "you do not earn a trophy", is this some new unknown error or a joke?

The story and video may contain outbursts of a less uncouth nature but the story continues.

Actually i think the blame here would be with Treyarch... they did make the game after all.

Definitely Treyarch who are at fault, because it's only this game and it's not even that specific trophy.

Its not a bug, its deliberate to stop cheaters. You have to earn the trophy by getting it by starting from a new save on every PS User.

You cant just log in as a different user and carry on from an existing save point made by another user and get the trophy. You need to start the game with a fresh save with each user.

It happened to me with Fallout 3. I tried to use a save file on another system logged in as myself and I got the "You did not earn a trophy" message.

I noticed this popping up all the time in IGN's video review of Street Fighter 4 today. That explains it, they were probably using cheat codes and/or a separate review code to record the review, so trophies weren't awarded.

I copied my WaW data to a 2nd account for my bro to play with the freedom of mission select and Nazi Zombies and he got like 10 "You did not earn a trophy"

You can not get trophies with copied data on any game.

BTW I got WaW Platinum :D

That was more based on the game. Enemies spawn on you in vet mode. Like out of thin air. That's treyarch programming.

Respawning enemies is a gameplay mechanic of all CODs. Sorry to burst your bubble, you'll have to find another reason to hate Treyarch.

No bug here, the trophies need to be re earnt from a new game, not a copied game save or anything.

The level was completed from the start I would have thought it would have still earned you the trophy. I wouldnt be able to take my save game to a friends either?

Strictly speaking its not cheating. Cheating is when you load the 100% save game in the hope that it will sync trophies and give you them based on save. I like the idea of keeping it cheat free tho.

Just a shame we cant do this. Maybe no notification would suffice, funny how the code is there to respond to this `condition` :)

it still is cheating if you get a save near the end, but not the completed save file. It has to be done from the very beginning .

I have done Platinum and my friend had done upto HoTR on vet, I was doing him a favor.

Yeah but the point is it wasnt him playing his save at the time. You were playing your own save file with his PSN Username. Its the same as downloading a save file off the internet that belongs to someone elses PSN tag, and not getting any of the trophies off that. Its in place to prevent people from trophie boosting. If he wants that trophie he will need to get it himself. If he cant then that just means hes not as good yet as people who have gotten the trophy.

not a joke go check out the ign video review of SFIV they use the 3's build and you can see this phenomenon for your self...its an anti cheat measure by sony.

This is what I did.

1. Made new profile with friends details
2. synced trophies (he has done all the other cod w@w before HOTR on VET)
3. copied my 100% save to his profile via PS3 built in method of copyinf save
4. started game, solo, mission select and chose HOTR VET.

Surely that isnt cheating really.

In other games when you have already got the trophy and you repeat the event it doesnt say the same thing as I am sure that would get annoying.

But can Veteran be started on the game from the first play? If Veteran is unlocked after beating it on normal, then I assume that part of even getting Veteran as an option requires you to play the game thru on a lower difficulty level, so yea starting the game with your previously beat game is still kinda cheating. Tell your friend to earn it on his own and stop being such a n00b.

I traded the game after a couple of months played it both on PS3 and 360 it had its momments but it was not as good as COD 4 cannot wait for COD6 when it arrives later this year.

Why is anyone criticizing Treyarch or Sony for this? People work hard to get trophies, and I have no problem with anyone keeping people from cheating. I mean c'mon, if you can't get the trophies on your own you don't deserve them. You're seriously going to be a whiney little b!tch
because you couldn't cheat? Not to mention that if Sony plans use trophies to buy things in Home then trophies are going to have more value than just bragging rights. Personally I don't care about buying crap in Home, but if Trophies will be able to be used as currency in Home then how fair is it if ppl are cheating?

well, i don't agree you should be getting your friend his trophies, but it is BS, because there are many people that may have more than one ps3 or be playing at someone else's house on their ps3 and this could happen to them... fix it...

p.s. why would you do this? i had never thought of doing this i.e. helping anyone or getting help, and all this issue is going to do is make people realize there are other games that can do it and you will then have to work twice as hard making updates for so many games... just take that off...

I can fully understand cheating aspect of it. But it was just 1 lvl as he cannot do it :(

Still I call cheating this :

Flower on PSN, play game, exit and move the clock on PS3 forward a week, restart FLOWER and you get a trophy for coming back to the game after a week :/

See they let that happen but you and a friend cant help each other out. I think thats the point I wanted to make in the first place.

You did not earn a trophy.

You can't copy a save game with Veteran unlocked and just play veteran to get trophies. The trophy system makes it an even playing field where everyone have to earn their trophies on the same merits.

That is who it works, and you can't blame Sony or Treyarch if you don't understand that...
