At least he makes good games. If your going to be vocal and arrogant you need to be able to back it.

Jamegohanssj53540d ago

Jaffe owns. He probably wants to laugh about Fracture too.

Its like a child star still being famous at 40 years old. Its time to show people whats what imo.

He's yet to show what he's got without Sony cuddling him. Now he's on his own it's time to see if he's the real deal.

Just a few minutes ago an Epic writer makes a comment that he thinks the Lancer will be the new Lightsaber, which seems to me to be a positive aspiration and definitely a sign of respect to all affiliated with Star Wars but many sony loyalist bash his comments on that thread; some outright accuse Epic of being arrogant.

Then Jaffe's basicly calling out another studio, telling them to call him for advice, and the first comment from sony fan is:

"At least he makes good games"...blah, blah, blah...

So let me understand sony loyalist rule # 238697: Once the sdf has determined they "make good games" with the ps logo it, THEN they are allowed to say whatever they like.= lmfao the hypocrisy of n4g is astounding.

Have you ever, in your sad little existence, made a positive contribution to the community at N4G?
Or is it your aspiration to see if you can use "Sony fanboys", "Sony loyalists", "SDF" etc. in every single one of your posts?

I seriously have no idea how you legitimately moved up to six bubbles.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I have no feelings about him one way or the other. In fact, I think he is a little arrogant at times.
I see you avoided my question and the theme of your reply is pretty much the same as your usual verbal diarrhea. You should pay more attention.

JokesOnYou3540d ago (Edited 3540d ago )

you're a Jaffe loyalist, huh?......

oh well sorry to offend you I'm just speaking the truth, hey at least I didn't mention the bad, bad, 4 letter word that starts with an "S"....ooops, there goes my bubbles=

@ rhood022, noted he said "WAS" but I don't see how that changes the basic idea of what I alluded to in my first comments, which is that the majority of "sony loyalists"(my description of the extreme pro sony membership on n4g) seem to have very selective criteria for judging whether or not statements made by devs/writers/PR heads is acceptable or creditable....and its no coincidence that if it anything pro 360 is bashed while the same type or even more questionable statements are NO, I do not see the difference between the two scenarios, other than that I think if this had been CliffyB making such statements, the comment thread would sound much different...and YES it DOES make sense to me; only because I know exactly WHY.

@RememberThe357, I did read the entire article before I commented, also I don't know where you're from but I do think its somewhat arrogant to first assume that an outside studio wants your advice/ideas, furthermore even if you did think you have some great ideas to share why not CALL THEM an make a offer man to man instead putting the "word out" in an unoffiliated source that "its even more arrogant to tell another source: "THEY SHOULD give us a call at Eat Sleep Play." if thats not thinkly a bit highly of yourself or at least assuming a bit much then I don't know what is.

If you don't understand the difference between the two scenarios, then I don't know what to say that would make sense to you.

But a point of clarification. The Epic writer wasn't saying they were "aspiring" to be the new lightsaber, he said the Lancer WAS the new lightsaber. Meaning he believes that Gears has achieved the same iconic status what took Star Wars decades to achieve.

Their goal, according to the article, is to continue to build that image over the next ten-years.

Dude you obviously didn't read that interview. All he said was that he wanted to make an Indiana Jones game.

From the interview:
"1UP: I was replaying God of War 1 last weekend, and one thing I had forgotten was how many Indiana Jones similarities there were. So I'm curious, how much of this was you wanting to make an Indiana Jones game -- but obviously in a different setting -- and how much of it was just you wanted to pull in a few inspirations here and there?
"Coming off of God of War, and being able to sort of make my adventure game, which is what I always wanted to do, I always look back know and think, 'What are the things I [would have done differently]?'"

DJ: Well, there was, and will always remain until I get to do it, a desire to work with Indiana Jones in the interactive medium. I would still to this day love to do that. But really, I can't express, to the point that it borders on the absurd and potentially disturbing, the importance of Indiana Jones -- and specifically Raiders of the Lost Ark -- to my sort of creative development. So certainly, those movies, and specifically Raiders, are really important to me. And I think there was certainly intentional homage paid -- we knew we were making our own game, our own character, our own setting -- but there was definitely a sort of tip of the hat to Indy and sort of that great movie that Raiders was, absolutely.

1UP: Do you think realistically you'll ever make an Indiana Jones game, or is that just kind of a dream?

DJ: Well, I mean there's nothing planned right now. A lot of it has to do with, you know, what happens in the future. Do I think I will ever? I don't know. I have a great idea for how LucasArts could really take that property and do cool things with it, and if they're reading this, they should give us a call at Eat Sleep Play. We'd love to talk to them"

Tell me where you see him "basicly calling out another studio, telling them to call him for advice". It's not there, so shut up. Your trying to make it sound like hes being arrogant and your doing a horrible job.
