Critics say Killzone 2 is the redeemer

Early signs say Killzone 2 is going to live up to the hype this time, as the PlayStation 3's premier first-person shooter.

A slew of early reviews have garnished the sequel with praise, possibly redeeming the franchise from the long shadow of disappointment cast by 2004's Killzone released on the PS2.

yes the games gone gold, no more development time for what will come on the disc, maybe they're looking at this lag issue, but still the disc is done...

well, the master disc, now they've got to copy it millions of times and send them to stores worldwide... not an overnight jobby.

congrats is in order for GG for delivering and for Sony for having the foresight and the fortitude to back GG when everyone thought they made a mistake. Other publishers would have easily cut their loss and thrown them out but not Sony.

This is the 1st game that has gotten EVERYONE outside the Sony fancamp, truely taking a look at the PS3. This is the most positive intake I've seen of the PS3 since it has come out, I feel Sony gets all their games from KZ2 and on... on the same band wagon. To ride this out to glory, now they know what they have to have everyone in the palm of their hands. I hope they don't lose site at the opening KZ2 has created for them, now maintain that and it's full steam ahead!

I think Uncharted and MGS4 have also swayed a few in the 360 to get a PS3. I had a few friends that did. As the list of really remarkable games makes their way to the PS3 you will see more and more people buying a PS3. Same goes for the 360 heavy hitters that they have drawn the PS3 crowd to them. It is how the gaming world works. If everybody would just buy both systems would be a better place on N4G. 8)

Killzone 2 is a redeemer? I thought the playstation 3 was already a nice system which is why I got one :). Killzone 2 will be a nice purchase, but I hardly doubt it will be saving anything as the Playstation 3 doesn't really need to be saved by anything, never place all your chips on one place. I.e Never put all the faith in Killzone 2, the year is not over yet and their will be more games aplenty to play before this year is over and done with :).

P.S. Not saying killzone 2 will be bad or suck, just saying don't hype it so much as a savior for a system that doesn't need such. Also I will be hopefully getting Killzone 2 on day one :).
