The roots here are more Hollywood than Homeric, with stop-motion pioneer Ray Harryhausen's unforgettable work on the 1963 flick Jason And The Argonauts echoing regularly and literary accuracy merrily sacrificed to the cause of cramming in as many Olympian cronies as possible.
