Wolfire has been following this principle for the production of its new game Overgrowth by focusing on terrain first. Terrain is the simplest and best starting point because it will interact with and affect every other object in the game. Because players will spend nearly all of their time outdoors in Overgrowth, the terrain will be the most viewed asset in the game.
