More info on the PS3 "Home" Rumor

An inside source close to Sony made a post on the IGN boards a few weeks ago talking about a new feature that Sony would be implementing. At the moment the feature is dubbed "Home", and Sony has even secured a patent and logo for the name. The poster commented that this new Home feature would create a virtual home located in a virtual town, populated by the people on your buddy. Your buddies can go inside your house when your PS3 is online, and you can go inside their house.

first great games like resistance,vf5,nba 2k7 and so on.then it's downloads like making ps2 run better on ps3, an enhanced tekken 5(just got it) and flow, and if true,a cool new feature.

i was thinking the other day that something like 3dna(3d desktop on pc would be cool)and if true......BUUUUUUYYYAAAAAAAAUU UHHHHHH!!!

I think this will go a long way to get people more excited about the psn community. I hope it works out well for them. Having multiple people in one house chatting sounds like it could be pretty cool. The Wii has already proven that people really get a kick out of creating their own lil avatar character, I think this is a step in the right direction for Sony.

BTW I am not calling Sony copycats. Any one of the three console manufacturers could be called that for one reason or another. There's nothing wrong with copying another company anyway so long as they can add their own little personal touches to it. It's how most other businesses work.

If this rumor is true, then this may be one excellent feature to look forward to. Instead of having the standard screen name and members section, now people can roam around within the virtual world.

Juno(an ISP company) once had something very similar to this. They had a virtual instant messaging system that allowed a members to create their virtual character and roam around to chat with other members.

hey i rember that wow i had an account for that wonder if it still exist today

specialguest6263d ago (Edited 6263d ago )

It was suppose to be their big and special innovation to battle AOL with. Now Juno and AOL are partners and I think that feature might be long gone. I haven't used Juno since '99.

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

Furesis1h ago

I would say it does. The combat is a bit shit for todays standards but everything else is great.

It's worth a play through today.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron - Coming Back for a New Generation

Originally launched in 2011, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is coming to Nintendo Switch, so It's time to look back at the original.

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.

Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.

Fallout 3's Reveal Led To Death Threats And Bethesda's First Security Guard

The artist behind Fallout 4’s Deathclaw reveals just how bad things got back when Bethesda took over the series

anast22h ago

People are stupid I get it. No one should feel unsafe,

But I think they need to talk about why they cut so many corners during the development process and why none of their games ever look current. And why they think all of this is okay while they charge full price.

LucasRuinedChildhood21h ago

As much as Bethesda deserve criticism, that's not really relevant to the reveal of Fallout 3 in 2007.

VenomUK18h ago

The default angle Kotaku always go for is to highlight the worst in gaming.

I would’ve focused on the creative.

anast36m ago

The game went downhill at Fallout 3's release. This is when they started to cut corners.

gold_drake17h ago

there is no "but". the hell lol
you dont send death threats, period.

anast21m ago

Usually, you have good comments but this isn't one of them. It just rides the mob. We can do both condemn the actions and not let them use it for other things.

I can say I received a death threat and everyone needs to shut up. People are not honest and will use horrible things to their advantage.

Armaggedon12h ago

Not all games “look” current.

anast21m ago

Their games always look like the gen before it.
