Bungie Weekly Update: Mythic Map Pack Previews

"We wanted to address an oft-asked, but pertinent question about the Halo 3 Multiplayer content that will ship with Halo 3: ODST this Fall. All twenty-four Halo 3 Multiplayer maps will be in the box. All shipping maps: The Heroic Map Pack, The Legendary Map Pack, Cold Storage, The Mythic Map Pack, and three brand new exclusive maps are included."

Can you name a PS3 game that have more online players than Halo 3? There is a reason why Sony does not release online stats.

When you connect to xbox live the first thing you see is the hundreds of thousands or millions of people connected. Which PS3 game does that?

I mean think about it... Halo 2 still have a ton of people playing it online... Can you name a PS2 game?

Do people even play Resistance 1 or any exclusive game that came out more than 6 months ago? and if So, you have to be an idiot to imply that any of those games come close to halo.

Trust me the next Halo will focus a lot on graphics... but as Bungie said way before the game came out. They tried to keep the game truth to Halo 2 and their focus was not graphics.

Lots of people can bash Halo 3 saying how much it sucked but there is a reason why people keep playing it.. and once they beat and play the new games... they all seems to find their way back into Halo... this does not have with any PS3 game yet.

That's why I'm happy Microsoft made Halo wars.. I am an RTS fan... and if Halo FPS is a sign I am expecting this game to be supported by Microsoft for a long time... new content new maps..

we also hear lots about how the PS3 is future proof... but it's games are not... take a look at Halo 3... a new big upgrade coming this fall... Halo 2 even got a map pack right when Halo 3 came out.

PS3 is so future proof but it's games are forgetting within months. Where's Heavenly Sword? Encharted? and all the other good PS3 games? how come there is no support? If there is a great game... gamers appreciate enhancements... not to keep paying $60 for another game.

Same goes for multiplayer... when these old games stop selling.. what do you think they will keep all those server alive?

So a game has to be realistic to deserve high scores? In case you haven't realized Halo isn't about realism, it's all about fun and competition. You just said it was fun twice in your statement. Isn't that what gaming is all about? Having fun.

also, notice that Sony never releases worldwide console sales numbers either. My guess is they've sold less than what the tracking agencies are giving them credit for.

Sony has a lot to hide. They're in worse trouble than they're letting on.

Oh yeah, right now Halo 3 is selling about the same ammount worldwide from month to month as Resistance 2 and Halo 3 has been out one and a half years.

It's okay, you can get a 360 for a really good price man. It's a great system and compliments the PS3 nicely.

EDIT: So he did PM me his gamertag so you do own a 360. My bad it's just when I looked at your comments and seeing you're in the Open Zone I jumped to the conclusion you didn't own the system. If you actually hate Halo that is fare and at least you are talking from a platform holder prespective, but I didn't see Halo on your gamercard so not sure if you even played it, maybe on original Xbox? It's all good.

Awesome. Now I'm particularly happy that I haven't bought any of the add-on map packs up to this point. Now I can rest easy knowing that if I just hold my horses til ODST comes out, I can have them all without really explicitly buying them.

This is a dumb question will you be able to play multiplayer with the ODST disk or do you still have to use the Halo 3 disk?
