Around 90 seconds of downloading and your system will restart, before seemingly downloading another update lasting around 30 seconds. Again restarting, the system will boot normally, allowing you to once again sign-in to XboxLIVE!.
Get a life.
Microsoft responded to our enquiry with haste, and confirmed that the Dashboard Update is indeed the HDMI Audio fix that was expected. Below follows the details from the infamous Major Nelson's BLOG: "Starting Tuesday morning at 0200 Pacific when you sign into Xbox Live you’ll be prompted for a mandatory dashboard update. The update addresses the issue that a few folks were having with audio and their HDMI connection. This update will be rolled out to all Xbox LIVE members around the world over the space of a few hours, so you may not get prompted for the update immediately. Thanks for your patience. "
How long ago did NXE break HDMI audio? LOL.
i didnt break hdmi audio, not every user with hdmi was experiencing the problem, it was an oddity
It occurs just as described.
About bloody time they released this update. 3 months is pushing it.
My elite works just fine over hdmi after updating. My other 360 is a launch one so it obviously wasnt affected. Was it more prone to the original elites / early model pro's? Any newer arcades or pro/elites having this issue?
I have a 2 month old Jasper arcade unit. Never had HDMI audio problems with it. Good thing to have this resolved. Could be a little faster with the update...though you wouldn't' want to inadvertently screw up consoles unaffected right? :-p Testing is good.
I'd almost forgotten about this problem but 3 months is better late than never, and not bad considering the compatibility testing involved. Glad it's fixed!
Sweet, il boot up today and download it.
