6 Big Things the Xbox 360 got Right in 2008

That Gaming Site reveals six reasons why Microsoft's Xbox 360 was able to make 2008 its own.

Out of all the things the 360 did right in 2008, I can't help but be disappointed by the fact that the majority of big-name 360 titles were very glitchy. Too Human, Fable II, Gears 2, Left 4 Dead, and Ninja Gaiden 2 were all pretty dang glitchy. Banjo Kazooie was the only game that wasn't too glitchy, but unfortunately I didn't find that game too fun to begin with. What's up with that?

The author also mentioned "superior downloadable content". Uhhh....WHAT content? The two major exclusive DLC packs announced for the 360 last year were GTA4 and Fallout 3, yet both of those DLC packs came out in 2009.

And finally, the author mentioned "revamped, dependable 360 hardware". Sorry, but no cigar.

The only thing they got right was the price cuts & yeah the nxe looks nice too. Apart from that they lacked quality exclusives. The only two good exclusives they had were gears 2 and fable 2. Out of which fable 2 was technically underwhelming. I think its about time msft invest in some new ips, they have been riding on so-called superior multiplatform games for too long.

If you read that whole paragraph you would see it then starts to say that the PS3 is looking good in 2009 while developers grasp the PS3's power and then lists some of the games that look impressive.

Overall tho it is about exclusives. PS3 is the winner here without a doubt in 09. If you ask me, they won 08 with exclusives as well. Quality-wise they had the best lineup for the 3 consoles. Who gives a sh*t about popularity. Just cuz little Billy buys a Wii and gets all his buddies to buy it doesn't mean it is the best. They can enjoy their Imagine: Babysitters and Wedding Planners that get released every week.

Sure, ps3 is getting downgraded instead of upgraded (minus increasing hard drive size, which itself is unnecessary considering a 500 gb hd can run lower than $130)

wifi? want it? it's 100 bucks
xbox live for a year? want it? 60 bucks
120 gb hard drive? want it? 160 bucks
total = $520 + taxes..

the ps3 uncharted combo is a bit less than that + has a 160 gb hard drive

Its quite astounding that the 360 still sold so well through 2007 and 2008 despite all the negative press about its RROD problems. I went through two myself, jumped ship to the PS3 but now with the price drop I'm thinking of buying one again. My dilema now is whether to buy an Elite (likely to be a Falcon?) which would match my TV, stand, PS3 and Sky HD box or buy a Jasper Arcade and buy the HDD etc separately which comes out near enough the same price. Curiously a number of stores in this area are sold out of Elites so maybe the next batch will be Jaspers?
