Cliff "CliffyB" Blezinski was once called "Nintendo Boy" in school because he played video games. Now he's getting his sweet revenge. As lead game designer for Epic Games' "Gears of War," he has the satisfaction of knowing that a game he worked on for four years and dreamed about for many more is topping the charts with 3 million unit sales for the Xbox 360. Multiply that times $60 and you see that a product conceived by Nintendo Boy has generated $180 million at retail since November. Dean Takahashi caught up with CliffyB at the Dice Summit, where he was basking in the glow of winning eight awards for Gears of War from his peers in the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.
