The upcoming release of Nintendo's new Play Control! Pikmin for Wii makes a lot of sense for several reasons, both from business and gamer standpoints. It's been eight years (amazingly enough) since the original offering released for GameCube and there are millions of videogame newcomers turned onto the medium for the first time with Wii who have never heard of the series. Furthermore, given the fact that the original Pikmin sold less than 700,000 units in America (and its sequel much less), the sad truth is that even a lot of Nintendo fans have yet to go hands-on with the spectacular franchise.
