not 'had'. The fact that you can't find Wiis is actually a bad thing since that means Nintendo's not selling as many as could had those units been on shelves. Microsoft on the other hand put too many units in circulation (which is technically better than nintendo's situation). In my area, it's actually not all that easy to get a PS3. I know a big problem in the beginning was allocating too many units to some locations and not enough to others, but that's what happens with every launch.

A product being available doesn't always mean there is a continuous supply of them from the maker. It could also mean it's not selling that fast.

Sony really makes it extremely easy to dislike them, but maybe they'll staple this guys mouth shut and turn it around.

What the heck is Sony talking about? Hiroshi Yamauchi ran Nintendo with an Iron fist for over 40 years. Under his leadership he brought Nintendo from a playing card company to the only game company that has always been in the black since day one. Nintendo almost single-handedly saved the game industry after the great crash in 1984 and remained number one till the PS1 came out. With the Wii they have a surefire hit on their hands. I saw it with my own eyes yesterday at best buy. They put up a "We got Wii's" sign and the people went freakin' berzerko and they sold out of Wii's instantly. There was seven PS3's sitting on the shelves.

What is Sony going to teach Nintendo, How to kill your game system by ladening it down with an unwanted, unneeded, proprietary, optical format and pricing it $200 more than the competition and then also simultaneously losing $300 on each game system?

Sony's announcement today of no price cuts through till 2008 has already sealed the PS3 position at number 3. Really, if 4 million Wiis have been sold already and 10 million 360's have been sold and Nintendo is on track to sell at least a total of 10 million Wiis by then of the year, how is Sony going to ever get out of third place? For each Wii sold lessens the chances of the same household purchasing a PS3. Why? Because of the Mega-Price of the PS3. People can and will purchase 360s, especially when Microsoft lowers the prices of the 360 when Halo 3 comes out. The "Wii60" is rapidly becoming a reality. I managed to snag mine yesterday and although I own all three systems, most households only have one system and at $600, it most likely won't be PS3 this Christmas.

Each company could stand to learn from eachother in a sense. I think Nintendo did something really risky with the Wii, they are going for super short life cycle and fast turn around. If they can pull it off, it will change the console market permanently.

With Microsoft's announcement yesterday that they are going to change their gameplan to directly compete with the Wii, Nintendo should be pretty worried. The problem with the Wii is that its a house of straw. Their entire hand is bet on a controller interface that is easily copied by anyone else. Once that happens, the Wii is dead in the water. Let's face it, Microsoft doesn't have a history of playing nice to other companies.

Its really funny that Sony went in a new direction with the Cell processor and was innovative and everyone rips it because its more expensive. Where Nintendo skimped majorly on their hardware and made a flash bang new controller and gets praised.

Sony and Microsoft can learn how to make fun, more mass appealing software and interfaces from Nintendo. Nintendo will learn the hard truth about competing with the other two, its ugly and in no way fair. Oh and fanpeople from both will attack you like your wearing a raw meat necklace at a rabid lion safari petting zoo. :)

It's really funny reading Psycho Phil's PR interviews/fiascos rambling on and on about superior this superior that, and all the while being able to take a stroll around Tokyo's electronic shops and watching the supply chain in action.

I have been to all the hot electro places here, and what I can honestly say is, I have seen ONE Playstation 3 being sold since I'm doing this. I have personnaly monitored 1 store for 6 hours until they got suspicious of me coming back every couple of minutes, and can say, they have not sold ONE in the time. I know it's not representative as such, but as a whole, you can't get any other impression but that they're not selling systems at all!

All this about superior supply chains is complete bollocks!

Not to mention the crap about the Rumble being OldGen. How many other old gen features should get taken out of ThisGen then? How about Games as a whole? Seriously... GT HD feels so sad without ANY feedback from the curbs when I play thru the SH1TAXIS...

btw, Motion Sensors and Rumble in one? Check the Wiimote, it gives you a hint.
