Not surprised at all. PS5 had severe supply constraints and cost more than the Switch 2.

But the Switch 2 is under powered, overpriced and has $80 games...see how that can go the other way. Just accept it for what's it worth, no need to explain away.

KwietStorm_BLM2d ago

What you call "explain away" is just normal perspective.

Chevalier2d ago

But it was NOT supply constrained though.

Sitdown2d ago

@KwietStorm_BLM

It's called feeling the need to defend.

Not surprising,

I had to pull all my resource to get a Xbox and PS5 and it still took me a couple of months after release to get one.
I went to the store and saw a switch 2 right there lol.
I feel like gamers and gaming journalist have short term memories man.
Covid severely held back Xbox and PS5 for the first year

GhostScholar2d ago

Yeah I agree. I had my wife constantly monitoring when a ps5 and series x became available and just lucked up to get them both at launch. You could walk in and grab a switch 2. The surprising thing about the switch 2 sales is how many they’ve sold with such an ass launch lineup of games.

Sgt_Slaughter2d ago

Switch 2 launched with Mario Kart World, BOTW, TOTK, Cyberpunk 2077, Split Fiction, Civ VII, Bravely Default HD, Yakuza 0, Hitman, etc., which is an insane lineup for any console let along at launch.

Mario Kart alone pushes sales for any console; look at the Switch, nearly half of every Switch owner bought the game, and that wasn't even a new entry.

@ Sgt_Slaughter

Only one of those games are new my guy. Great games that most people have played already on other systems. Weird comment to make.

I really hope there are a bunch of scalpers who bought loads of stock, only for Nintendo to absolutely flood the market nearer launch. I hate scalpers with a passion!

Personally, I love Nintendo games so my decision to jump in early was for MarioKart and to start replaying a bunch of my favourite Switch games. I have ploughed over 25 hours into Breath of the Wild since last Thursday, I am absolutely enthralled by it all over again!!!

JEECE2d ago

Based on where eBay auction prices are ending, some of these scalpers are probably only making $40 dollars or so per sale, after shipping costs and eBay fees are factored in. It's not a loss, which is what I'd like to see, and at volume they may scratch out a decent profit, but it's a far cry from the first year of the PS5 when scalpers could net $150-200 profit per unit.

BeHunted2d ago

In the UK, there are no eBay fees for private sellers. It's completely free to sell on eBay.

JEECE2d ago

@BeHunted

Interesting-I didn't know that. Well that changes the math over there. I wish it were free here lol (not because I want to scalp consoles but I do sell used items on eBay occasionally).

Ashwood Valley Review - Thumb Culture

"Ashwood Valley is a new cosy farming game, developed and published by RedDeer.Games and released on June 5th for the Nintendo Switch. Plant crops, befriend animals and work towards saving your sibling, who has been turned into a cat. I played it on the Switch as well as Switch 2 and can confirm that the game runs well on both of them." Charlie @ Thumb Culture
