The mobile games division of Capcom USA, Capcom Mobile, said last week it has acquired wireless game developer Cosmic Infinity. The Canadian company owns the rights to make mobile games based on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionare? in North America.
Capcom and Cosmic Infinity--which will become a subsidiary of Capcom USA--did not release financial details of the agreement, but Cosmic Infinity will continue to operate out of its current location in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
The Mobile and Interactive Media Division of Capcom Entertainment emphasized the importance of acquiring the developer of Millionaire, which is already a popular title, to support its growing presence in the mobile game market.
