I hope it has the Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster...and as usual from me before a state of play ..a new Ridge Racer or Burnout and a new unannounced fighting game.

But much more likely are a new Borderlands 4 trailer, Updates for existing games ..updates for upcoming games and 1-3 more Remasters of games released in the last 5-10 years already. (sigh)

pwnmaster30001d 20h ago

I wouldn’t get my hopes up for anything tbh.
State of Play has been mostly disappointing.

neutralgamer19921d 20h ago (Edited 1d 20h ago )

With no E3 and SOP not being the news it's just sad. June use to be about E3 and major reveals. Vivid changed everything

Terry_B1d 18h ago

No Borderlands 4 trailer and no remasters of more sony games released in the last years were somehow nice surprises--but the Marvel fighting game and FFT take the crown.

Pragmata and Nioh 3..
Amazing reveals

pwnmaster30001d 18h ago (Edited 1d 18h ago )

I’ll eat my words.

It wasn’t that bad. Like I said a solid B. Maybe even a B+

I hope Sony continues this trend.

Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster would also make me happy.

Terry_B1d 19h ago (Edited 1d 19h ago )

FFT..yes. Unexpected fighting game? Not yet but as a big MK (when it was good) fan I am happy about a great Mortal Kombat Kollection of the classic games.

Now just make a new Ridge Racer happening lol

RaidenBlack1d 16h ago

I was just happy to see Pragmata at last, along with the 007 reveal and more of Silent Hill F.
Was expecting something from Wolverine ... but anyways, was not a bad SoP. Nioh 3 was a surprise as well.

Terry_B1d 18h ago (Edited 1d 18h ago )

WHAT!!!! I got my unexpected fighting game reveal..HOLY SHIT! <3

Marvel fighting by Arc System Works OMG
edit:
damn does it look good
this is the best state of play since years
might be the best marvel fighting game ever

pwnmaster30001d 18h ago

Yeah it wasn’t as bad as I thought pretty cool.
Can’t wait for Nioh 3 and the new fighting game.
I give it a B.

Really looking forward to Sony's State of Play. It's always exciting to see what surprises might be in store, even though expectations should probably be kept in check.

A lot of Sony’s major first- and second-party studios are likely still deep in development. Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, and Insomniac are working on known projects, so it's probably too early for any big reveals from them. Bend and Bluepoint recently scrapped their live-service titles, so we likely won’t hear from them just yet either. And it’s probably still too soon for another Gran Turismo update.

That said, there’s still hope for some exciting announcements. I'd love to see some legacy content finally make its way to current platforms. Imagine an Uncharted Trilogy PC port, a God of War Collection, or even a MotorStorm Collection—that would be incredible, even though this newer version of Sony seems more focused on remakes of recent titles rather than digging into their deep backlog.

A remastered inFamous Collection would be amazing too—those games being stuck on PS3 is just a shame. And hey, if we're dreaming, a Jak and Daxter or Sly Cooper remake would be a dream come true… but let's be honest, the chances feel slim.

Maybe we'll get a glimpse at Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2—that trailer would be a big win. And fingers crossed that Sony Santa Monica is ready to show something, even just a teaser.

Either way, hoping for some surprises. It's not always about huge reveals—sometimes a well-curated throwback collection can steal the show. Let’s see what happens

Fingers crossed for FF9 Tactics Remake (or Remaster), FF9 Remake, and RE9! Those get dropped I will be jazz hands for the rest of the day.

It's that time. Percentage of games releasing from each studio.

Bend Studios: recently cancelled LS game it'll be awhile until we see anything from them. 0% they'll be at the show

Blue Point: also had a cancelled LS game. Said to be Gow LS inspired project. 0% chance theyll show up.

Insomniac Games: Wolverine is in the works. Haven't had no update since the September 2021 reveal. Release date 2026. 80% chance we'll see it. It's been too long.

Naughty Dog: Intergalactic is there main project said to release in 2027. Second project might be Uncharted related. Started in 2022.

2% they show up. That 2% is updates to the remaster and what not, small updates etc.

San Diego Studio: MLB every year. 0% chance they don't show up to any shows.

Santa Monica. Last game was GoW 2022 seperate from Corey Barlogs Main game. 80% chance it'll show up as that last thing to close the show.

Haven Studios: Fairgames. 10% chance it'll show up. With Jades departure and play tests being underwhelming I think they're gonna let this game sit for awhile.

Media Molecule: last game was Dreams in 2020. They're making a new Ip have been MIA. 50% chance they'll show up. It's been a good while so I'm 50/50.

Firesprite: they were doing Twisted Metal LS that got cancelled and apparently another game but who knows if they're still working on it or it's a real project. 1% they'll show up.

House Marque: Yes I think Saros will be shown off. 90% chance.

Polyphony: nothing new they release a new GT every gen. 5% maybe updates but I doubt it.

Team Asobi: yes New Astro updates. 95% chance.

Bungie: Marathon. I'll say no, with all the controversy and apparently sony canceled paid promotions and advertisement. 5% theyll show up. If they do there's nothing they cab show that'll generate excitement right now.

Sucker Punch. 100% Ghost Of Yotei gameplay trailer and ready for release on October 2.

Guerrilla Games Horizon 3 did to be a 2027 game. 0% It's not time yet.

Terry_B1d 19h ago

a sony state of play show does not need even one sony game to be a great show ;)

Forever now it was 1st party exclusives mattered was the up most high to they don't matter now?

No they matter and always will matter. That's why Xbox is in the position that they're in.

Terry_B1d 18h ago

eh..a lot more reasons prevented microsoft from ever being on top for a long while

If you are similar old as me (around 40) you might remember the games that made the playstation 1 the big winner against nintendo and sega.

Games like Tekken, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy and so many many more.

It was the same on PS2, PS3, even on the PS4.

They always had the biggest third party support on console. Their own big titles helped, especially Gran Turismo and in the last 10-15 years they were more important for the mass market. Last of Us, Uncharted and the many smaller games they created.

But the only reasons I bought a PS5 were the many games I still had to play via ps+, the dualsense gamepad and that I like to play fighting games where the most players are and do that comfortably on the couch without having to turn on the pc which I use for games that are best played with mouse and keyboard mostly. Without joking..I think this was the best games show this year so far and that while they showed only 1? 2? Sony games.

Lightning771d 15h ago (Edited 1d 15h ago )

99% was the lack of games that got them here. Having to rely on gamepass, buying up everything and going multiplat. xbox's own negligence and incompetence in lack of exclusive first party is what got them here. Sure Xbox fans are finally having fun. After all the sacrifice of the hardware and identity PS is not the same vein clearly as they're slowly but steadily rebuilding their first party software.

It will hurt them in the long run if they don't have the big AAA must haves. They're not hurting or anything now but they did have slightly lower output of console sales and first party sales the last quarter and are making shifts here and there Again, they're not taking 14 years like Xbox or anything but it will take another year or so until we get the real big games out.

Michiel19891d 5h ago

x360 definitely had more and better 3rd party support and it also ran way better. Multiplats on the ps3 were a bad slideshow until almost the end of that gen.

Oof..new Lumines..now thats an unexpected pretty cool start.
