Travis Bruno of Capsule Computers writes:
"Not too long ago we mentioned in another review of a Compile Heart developed game that players never quite know what to expect from the developer and while in this instance it happened to be about a spin-off to a charming but gore-filled RPG, this time around it’s the fact that the developer, alongside Neilo, have made a third-person shooter/roguelike of all things with Scar-Lead Salvation. Designed with a sci-fi anime aesthetic and offering fast movement with a variety of weapons, few could have expected that this would be the latest title to arrive from the developer and with Idea Factory International bringing it worldwide, is Scar-Lead Salvation a pleasant surprise or a dreadful one?"
TSA writes: More akin to playing through a proof of concept than a finished game, Scar-Lead Salvation fails to live up to the pitch of being an anime Returnal.
Scar-Lead Salvation is a roguelike that aims to capture the same energy that made Returnal a cult classic but can it reach those heights?
Idea Factory International will release the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions of science-fiction roguelite third-person shooter Scar-Lead Salvation alongside the previously confirmed PC (Steam) version on May 29 in the west, the company announced. The PlayStation versions will be available both physically and digitally. Wishlisting is available now via Idea Factory International’s online store.
