"When it comes to legends and fables, very few have been tackled quite as many times or in as many ways as anything related to King Arthur. Anything relating to Arthurian legends and the knights of the round table have long been seen as prime material ripe for the picking for all manner of game genre, some flipping things around with Artoria in the Fate franchise or sticking as true to legend as possible with various tweaks to Arthur and Merlin’s legends. Arthurian legends have been dabbled in long before video games were created but that doesn’t make them ripe for the picking now and Questline and Awaken Realms have done just that by putting perhaps one of the darkest and most expansive offerings of Arthur’s legacy that fans could hope for in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. After spending two years in early-access and now being given its full console release, is this twisted take on these familiar legends worth delving into?"
NoobFeed editor Wasbir writes - Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is a solid RPG capturing the spirit of The Elder Scrolls with a dark Arthurian twist. Despite technical issues and some rough edges, it offers an engaging story, fun combat, and a rich world worth exploring.
I got this pre-release and put it aside for a bit, which im glad as i had to start again when i started playing it again on full release...awesome game so far, very much like oblivion etc...combat is punishing though you wont be spamming sword attacks crazily....just stalled on the Oblivion remaster, its great but too familiar, this is scratching that itch, its new, hard and dark....would recommend.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "I may have sounded overly harsh, but in reality, I actually enjoyed my time playing Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon IN SPITE of its many issues and bugs. It’s a fun world to explore, it’s an interesting lore to unveil, and, as previously mentioned, the story is actually really good. I can’t help but deeply respect a smaller team for coming up with what’s essentially their own take on The Elder Scrolls. That being said, those Bethesda RPGs have a certain charm and mojo that’s impossible to replicate. It’s a fun RPG to tackle if you’re currently looking for something akin to Oblivion and Skyrim, and especially if you’re a fan of anything related to King Arthur."
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is ambitious new action adventure RPG based on the characters and mythology of King Arthur and Avalon.
Print a physical copy (with the game on disc not the lame MS/Ubisoft way) and I’ll check it out
Enjoyed the demo. I'll probably end up buying this at some point. It's closer to Oblivion with its leveling system than Skyrim. It felt like I was playing the recent remaster.
