Clearly the PlayStation community has an appetite for these games. Following Xbox’s move to third party the extremist fans just wanted to say their side was winning, they don’t care that the Xbox console platform is being sunsetted. So they gloat and mindlessly cheer the great sales on PS5. But the real Xbox fans like Destin Legarie and Mr MattyPlays have acknowledged that Xbox will never be the same again.

People are ignoring the fact that Microsoft also bought Call of Duty, Minecraft, Doom, Elder Scrolls. I don't undertand what people expected to happen. When someone buys up so much of the industry its impossible for them not to chart so much. You will have the random fanboy that ignores this and glorifies everything Micosoft does and claims its a product of their hard work and quaility... but the truth is they bought the publisher that were already charting.

This is an absolute win for gamers. Never have we seen a company say OK anyone can play our games and they don't need to buy into the ecosystem. It wouldn't be surprising that more and more games launch day and date on playstation. Microsoft are the biggest software gaming publisher by a wide margin, they own so much content and so many legendary IP's.

I know some take this as some sort of victory lap saying Xbox lost or whatever but end of the day MS wants revenue and profits while pushing gamepass at the same time. 25-30 million GP subscribers and millions more on other platforms paying whatever the price at time of purchase to MS. Win win

Would any of us be shocked if some months out of the year the best selling game on playstation will be produced by MS? Halo is next along with starfield. Just opening the possibility of having their games on playstation has generated them hundreds of millions. In month of December MS was the biggest publisher selling the most units and generating the more revenue

We as gamers should be happy and celebrating this IMO if only we can put aside my plastic box is better than yours mindset

i guess i trust MS more than activision and zenimax. IMO their current vision for where their games should be playable is pro consumers (not over looking the fact consumers have refused to buy their hardware compare to playstation and nintendo) games like forza and gears are not 3rd party published games yet even those will be coming to other platforms.

Your take on it is ridiculous. Cell block is right on the money on this. Those games were guaranteed to be coming to PlayStation as third party games. Microsoft spent 80 billion at least which is not an everyday acquisition. That was consolidation and monopolization to try and get gamers to their platform. But it didn't work as gamers are locked in to their PlayStation accounts and aren't going to leave to Xbox.

But there was no way those games, and the developers who made them, were going to survive on Xbox only platforms because of game pass and Xbox gamers not wanting to spend money. If anything, it has been Sony, Nintendo and PC that has saved those games and those developers from dying out. Jobs would have been lost and game franchises dead because of the purchase.

Microsoft may be making money on other platforms. But it's only because that huge purchase backfired and they still got their ass kicked by Sony anyway when all that Sony wanted to keep was COD. In the end, Sony is getting all those other games as well and Microsoft's first party games.

It's more that they lost the fight and lost again by having to put their games on their competitors platforms. That's not a win win. That's getting their ass kicked. Then getting kicked in the chest while lying on the ground flailing.

They are new 3rd party published games. This happens all the time. Forza is the MS games on that list. 1/10 are MS games. The rest of the are Activision/Blizzard/Zenimax games, and they bought Minecraft too.

Still a little baffled how Sony has been fairly dry the last few years spite still releasing a goty title last year. Massive issues with live service titles. Microsoft having so many studios under their belt looking like they where going to destroy Sony only to just do a big swerve and become a 3rd party publisher.

Xbox is like the Hulk Hogan of gaming. We thought they came to kick Playstation's backside but instead turned on their fans and formed the NWO (with Sony) to become the biggest publisher around.
