That looks nice. I like the GameCube style joycons, I don't know why people downvote, if it's not their taste just leave the post as is. MP remastered a masterpiece I have it myself to. I bought the Hori Split Pad Pro, they are pretty good.

This looks absolutely beautiful. It demonstrates that Microsoft has a vision for where gaming should be going. Sadly I fear that Sony with its cloud-only PS Portal machine will be left behind in the dust. These are the closing days of the PS5 era.

Cloud only PS Portal? It's a £200 streaming device. It has two jobs remote play from a ps5 and stream from the cloud noting else. It's essentially a accessory.

This Microsoft/Asus handheld is a handheld pc that's going to be £400+. How you can compare it to a streaming accessory I don't know lol. Microsoft/Asus really need to do something incredible with this. As we are currently at a time where everyone seems to be releasing a new handheld gaming pc on a daily basis.

Dunno about anyone else but the cloud streaming on the portal is absolutely awesome and a device under 200. And once beta is finished 1000+ games to stream instantly. This is gonna be priced 500+ minimum, to still stream gamepass games. That's an odd comparison with the portal

While I agree (for now) the sony era of old has run it's course. The PS portal is a solid device and if sony has shown anything in the past, it's they can make top tier handheld consoles.

Portal and this are two different products.
One is a streaming accessory whilst the other is a standalone portable PC with an Xbox branding and buttons.
FYI, this is not the bespoke Xbox handheld that'd be part of Xbox's next-gen console lineup of 2027.
This, Project Keenan, is supposedly just a collab with Asus to produce an Xbox branded Ally 2.

No one cares about this thing, it's just a ROG Ally with green LED's and a Xbox button which will probably cost more than the base ROG Ally because of Microsoft licensing fee's.

You can get mad at the negative comparison to the Portal, but I stand by my statement and still think that it won't outsell the base ROG Ally.

Sooo. What's the point of this device? If you aren't going to do the bare minimum of following Xbox's colored face buttons, Guide button, or even DPad shape... I don't get it. To show how little the brand means?

If it's just to debut a friendlier app interface, then that should just be available to all Win11 handhelds through a windows update.

Sounds expensive, it’s going to struggle to sell when the casuals will stick to the far cheaper and optimised for Switch 2. I love my Ally X but this is going to be approaching 5060 laptop territory in pricing.

With dedicated Xbox button...so is this what we can expect from Xbox then for a handheld? Even if this isn't the one, they are just going to give us a ROG Ally with the Xbox OS? That then has to compete with the Steam Deck. Valve better get their butts in gear and get a new Steam Deck out if they want to compete.

Wish z2 extreme had ai tops to run fsr 4, then it would have been day one buy for me. Currently I'm playing mostly indie or aa games on ally x and everything else on 5090, so im just gonna wait for amd mobile chip with fsr 4 capability before upgrading.
