Is the Retroid Pocket Secretly One of the Best Handhelds?

Could the Retroid Pocket secretly be one of the greatest handhelds of all time? Netto's Game Room thinks so. Here is why you might want to consider owning one; especially as an alternative to devices like the PlayStation Portal, or to be a companion for your PC or Xbox. Or maybe even use your Game Pass or Amazon Luna subscription on?

I like this one more, Retroid Pocket Flip 2 Handheld

The flip 2 is really cool, and hopefully holds up a lot better than the flip 1! Sadly it had the issue some GBA SPs and original model DS consoles had where it cracked at the hinges. Retroid learns from their mistakes however, and offer replacements on faulty units

Maybe if it was all aluminum instead of plastic the hinges would be ok. The GBA SP and DS were all plastic, I know I had about 4 versions of the DS and had one with a cracked hinge.

Flip 2 is shit compare to RP5 or AYN Odin Portal.

The Odin is pretty amazing; for sure another top retro handheld. A little bit more pricey, but you get what you paid for

It only has two issues:

1. The screen is a tad too small for modern games, so streaming suffers a bit.

2. It runs on Android, which means it can emulate a ridiculous number of games (even some Wii U and Switch), but it expects the user to actually do some setup. This immediately disqualifies most casual gamers, who'd rather chew glass than touch a settings menu.

Other than that, it’s a damn fine machine. Great controllers with hall effect sticks and analog triggers, just as the gods intended. A Full HD 60Hz AMOLED screen, Wi-Fi 6, a 5000mAh battery, etc.

Review - Among The Whispers: Provocation (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Kyle Nicol: "Despite some good ideas that could have made Among The Whispers: Provocation a compelling addition to the ghost hunting horror subgenre, there are a lot of messy elements scattered throughout all of its corners. It does have a solid foundation, and being single-player does differentiate it from its sources of inspiration, but at the end of the day, the source of inspiration is still a better experience. It does lack variety and becomes tedious very quickly."
