The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered's digital debut is already well-received but it could be improved with a future physical release
NoobFeed editor Ragib writes - A virtually perfect remaster that maintains the spirit of the original while significantly boosting its visual and mechanical authenticity. Cyrodiil is more inviting and enjoyable than ever. It’s an RPG experience not to be missed in 2025.
"It really happened! The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has been released! Developed by Bethesda Game Studios and Virtuos, it is available right now for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. The base game includes all of the old DLCs that are available for the original version of the game. However, there is also a Digital Deluxe Edition that features quests for new armour and weapons, as well as a digital artbook and the game’s soundtrack!" Charlie @ Thumb Culture
Oblivion Remastered shows how Bethesda once embraced discomfort in game design, forcing players to adapt rather than guiding them every step.
Even if it was released physically you probably still wouldn’t be able to play it without using some form of internet or, the full game would not be on the disk most likely. Physical media is dying and I’d expect more and more games to be strictly digital in the near future.
I’m all for choices but let’s be real here physically media is on its last legs…
Not buying Microsoft products is actually the best way to get physical media.
If they put the full game on disc I’d buy it day one. I am not buying Indiana Jones because it doesn’t have the full game on disc. If I ever do buy Indy I’ll buy it used in a couple years when it’s really cheap. I have tons of games to play. I would like to play Oblivion again but I also don’t mind waiting as long as it takes.
All good and valid points m8s.
