1tb cards appear to be hitting the market now I'm going to hold off the internal storage should be sufficient for me personally for a few months most of my switch 1 games are physical

So popular, that STILL in Australia you can preorder both Switch bundles. They are not sold out here.

I'm not saying because it's like that here that it's the same in other places, but I am saying it's not the best sign. Hold your horses on saying how popular it is at this point.

Forget the PS5 and covid and what entailed there for sales. BUT think about the PS4, that sold out in minutes in Australia.

This Switch 2 is not that much different than the previous one, and it's friggin expensive to boot. I know Switch one sold so well, but the jury is out on this one until real sales numbers start coming in after launch. That's when we can judge how "popular" it is.

All pre-orders are available here in the UK as well.

Nintendo did state though that they weren’t going to do a Sony and create a false shortage by only releasing small amounts at a time, to be fair to them.

lukasmain36d ago

Lol "false shortage". What a crock of shit. That never happened. It didn't need to happen. The demand was there. In fact I've never seen anyone ever say that it was a "false shortage". You're the first

Nintendo is trying to fight scalpers for Switch 2 pre orders. But some retailers are announcing historical sales already, even the game chat camera is doing pretty great.

but ...

people are gonna have a rude awakening when they realise that they need micro express sd cards and others wont work for the switch 2 ha.

It will be the last Nintendo console with any physical games anyway.

@terry: “It will be the last Nintendo console with any physical games anyway. “
It’s that mentality that got us where we are now where it’s ok to pay $10 for a skin that used to be free by unlocking a level or playing on a higher setting 😩.

Terry_B10h ago

never bought a costume /skin..never will.

but yes..people are dumb and they got us where we are now. with games being incomplete, needing many patches, having tons of dlc, microtransactions and all that shit.

gold_drake1d 20h ago

are u fking kidding me lol

why would the code be expiring

jaymacx8h ago

It’s crazy alone that it’s separate in the first place. This version should just be complete. I see what Capcom is doing here, they are making it hard for anyone to resell the game similar to what EA used to do

Switch 2 really went from a ‘Day 1 Must Buy’ to a ‘Might pick one up some day in the future’, because of all the anti-consumer decisions Nintendo has made for their new console …

jjb198121h ago

I think about lot of it had to do with the amount of piracy that is going on with the Switch. Its like they want the hackers to try and pull the ROMS from the system itself versus just dumping it from a physical media. It just sucks that it had come to this point. Nintendo will keep Nintendo-ing.

Yi-Long12h ago

I have no idea what their motivations are, but nothing drives more people from legitimate purchases and towards piracy, than lack of ownership over your purchases, and chipping away at their consumer-rights and ease-of-use.

Neonridr9h ago

not for me, personally I'm not buying SF6 anyways. All First party titles are released with the games fully on the card. What 3rd party publishers decide to do is up to them. This still beats a code in a box any day. At least you can trade/sell the game when you are done.

chrisx5h ago

Yes, we all know you are nintys number one cheerleader. Nothing , no matter how anti consumer they do can ever sway you away 😄

Neonridr1h ago

@chrisx - I love new tech, I will always get the next console from Nintendo and Sony. I even spent a crap ton on the 30th Pro.

my point is, what some 3rd party dev does with their games doesn't affect me. Especially if it's for some random game I wasn't planning on getting. Imagine saying you wouldn't get a console because some random 3rd party games aren't the full game on cartridge.

Inverno21h ago

Modders are gonna hit the Switch 2 hard, and piracy is gonna be even higher on it than the first. That or 3rd party support will dry out sooner than later when enough people realize publishers don't wanna put in effort with physical releases on the system. People underestimate the casual consumer, when they feel screwed over they won't stick around like the fanboys. And with the astronomical prices of Switch 2 games I honestly can't see this succeed in the way Nintendo expects it to.

GAMERJET16h ago

This Switch 2 stuff gets worse everyday. What other anti-consumer stuff are they hiding still?

OhReginald11h ago

Well if you want to use your switch 2 right out of the box you need to make sure you have a internet connection to get the day 1 patch.
