Nintendo Switch 2 is already selling out at some retailers

Still both the Mario Kart bundle and normal Swtich 2 are all still available to pre-order everywhere in Australia. I remember per-ordering the PS5, it was unavailable after minutes. Switch has been up for over 24 hours and is still available. That tells me it's not as in-demand. We'll see though

Unfortunately, I don't think it's going fail. What makes the game prices so much worse, is the fact that Nintendo never have sales or rarely do for their games. The prices will stay the same for years i think

Yeah I recall watching the ps5 event and ordering via EB games about 15 minutes later telling my mates and only one of them secured a console it was roughly 20 minutes after the showcase for the ps5 that all Aussie stock was exhausted

Definitely not the case with switch 2 I ordered one yesterday morning at 6am when I woke up sight unseen as I could always cancel it and didn't want a repeat of the ps5 and it's 3 year drought. Looks like my concerns were unfounded stock is still available.

Given it's Nintendo the most we can expect us $100 discount when a revised model comes out for the next 10 years

PS5 had chip shortages due to covid when it launched and there were fewer systems because of it, so that not really anything to go by.

Pre ordered the switch + mario kart bundle from Very UK. But had to get it with the stupid camera as the console and game alone was sold out.

I'll just sell the camera once it arrives.

The reason to buy day 1 is to keep it on low firmware, so you can homebrew / mod it in the future. Later firmware updates block exploits. My early Switch 1 model is softmodded and I can access nearly every game for free. I'll do the same with Switch 2, its a good idea to plan ahead for the future.
