Not really, in my humble opinion.
No. Hell no. I hate skill trees. Items, spells, weapon arts etc are way better and a lot more fun then scrolling down through some tedious menu to unlock a branch of skills.
Let devs add or not add what they want. It’s nice to have a mix of gameplay instead of insisting games are more alike
i really like it, but not every game moving forward needs it.
