Xbox Is Experimenting With An Extra Button Press To Open Games

Microsoft has started testing a new Xbox Game Hubs feature with Xbox Insiders. It means you might have to press the Xbox A button twice to launch games soon.

PS5 needs that. It's annoying to press X on a game and accidentally close the one you're playing.

Huh I don’t think I have ever experience that in my life, with any console nor have I heard anyone complain about it, but i guess it’s a thing.
I think it will be more annoying I have to press x/a then select the start button more then anything.

@Pivobs
Yes as I stated “ nor have I heard anyone complain about it, but i guess it’s a thing.”

Turns out people can’t read 😂

Kurisu69d ago

It's happened to me quite a few times. When I'm playing a game and press the PS button to go and look at screenshots gallery or something, I might accidentally press to start the wrong game and quit out by mistake. PS4 used to have a "are you sure you want to close application/game" or something along those lines - been a while.

Jin_Sakai69d ago

I’ve went to the home menu many times while playing a game then go to open the game back up and click the wrong game and it close the one I’m playing. I’m like ugh!

Profchaos69d ago

I can't say I've done that but to some extent I feel the old PS4 sidebar was superior to the ps5 dock for those actions I could run that thing blindfolded with the tv off

jznrpg69d ago

It’s for the button mashers I guess

NotoriousWhiz69d ago

And boy are there a lot of them. I really like the ones that button mash through instructions and then go: "so what am I supposed to be doing?"

I'm in the Alpha Skip Ahead tier of the preview program and I just got this a couple days ago and I hate it lol. I know it's just pressing A twice instead of once to start a game, but it's so unnecessary. The first A press isn't showing me anything important.

gold_drake69d ago

i guess i had this happen by accident once or twice.

a warning is all we need rly. like "hey this other game is still running, u sure ?"

Activision says gross Call of Duty loadout screen ads were only a test that was added “in error”

Call of Duty added in-game ads to the Black Ops 6 loadout screen, but Activision is claiming the gross update was added by mistake.

-Foxtrot1d 1h ago

Didn’t Ubisoft use this excuse a while back when they did something similar?

Christopher1d 1h ago

It's amazing how many companies are open with their inability to properly manage software releases while at the same time revealing they have designs developed and ready for full release to do things they know will annoy gamers.

Tacoboto22h ago

Microsoft has certainly used that excuse in at least 2-3 Windows updates over the recent years over ads in the Start Menu or something like that

isarai22h ago

🤣 bro how many times are we gonna hear this excuse just for it to show up again later

gold_drake21h ago

"oh so sooowy, we wanted to do iiit, but obviously not launch it yet, so its totally not our fault, it was fully functional tho lolzzzz"

Neonridr2h ago

I'm sure these were only by "accident" after the uproar.
