Konami and NeoBards Entertainment's Silent Hill f has been refused classification and will not be released in Australia.
After being refused classification, it appears that the ratings board has now decided on a rating for Silent Hill f in Australia.
This reminds me of the PS2 Japanese horror games with modern day graphics. Hoping this turns out well and from what I’ve seen so far it looks like it will.
Australia, founded on criminals, run by criminals (literally). but a video game, ill take bribes and have dealings with outlaws and corruption, but a video game, not on my watch
Silent Hill f is on its way, and those looking for an appetizer should check out some of these horror titles, which share some of the same DNA.
Could Silent Hill f be the true beginning of the franchise’s curse? Explore how 1960s Japan, red spider lilies, and generational trauma might explain the entire Silent Hill mythos.
I don't think it would have started in Japan considering it gives off the impression in previous games that Silent Hill was founded on sacred land to Native Americans with special powers that ended up being corrupted over time, so this whole thing was around a lot longer than whatever happens in the 1960s.
Kojima had it right when it was planned to be "Silent Hills" cause it could've easily been used to imply that multiple cultures around the world had a similar curse.
I read this really great theory the other day that the main character is actually older and living in Silent Hill, but the town is forcing her to relive the events from her past when she was a young girl in Japan.
I rather they not explain it all. Somethings should be left unknown it's more interesting that way.
My country's ratings board is a world wide pathetic embarrassment and a revolting stain on the gaming industry. They deserve to be ridiculed and laughed at. Their pretentious and outdated views on what adult gamers can and can't play is riot-worthy. Konami will remedy this or appeal or some shit hopefully. Luckily though, all PS5 games are region free. So I'll just get it from another country.
"Combat is described as particularly gruesome, with frequent blood-splatter effects and scenes depicting large bloodstains throughout the environment. Enemy attacks can result in graphic injuries, including impalement to the neck and facial mutilation. Additionally, cutscenes depict gruesome acts such as a character being burned alive, a woman branded with a hot iron, and characters sawing off their own limbs or slicing off facial portions during rituals. Other unsettling imagery includes entrails and sinew displayed on serving platters as part of a grotesque ceremony."
Sounds Fking GLORIOUS
Glad I don't live in Australia I don't like people telling me no I can't buy that game because it's banned. People will still play it just by importing it.
The usual racism against asian developers continue. Nothing to see here.
I think I write something to the effect of things are getting better over here and we hadn't seen a outright ban in years.... Well famous last words.
Thankfully consoles are region free
Stay Aussie, my friends.
