My country's ratings board is a world wide pathetic embarrassment and a revolting stain on the gaming industry. They deserve to be ridiculed and laughed at. Their pretentious and outdated views on what adult gamers can and can't play is riot-worthy. Konami will remedy this or appeal or some shit hopefully. Luckily though, all PS5 games are region free. So I'll just get it from another country.

"Combat is described as particularly gruesome, with frequent blood-splatter effects and scenes depicting large bloodstains throughout the environment. Enemy attacks can result in graphic injuries, including impalement to the neck and facial mutilation. Additionally, cutscenes depict gruesome acts such as a character being burned alive, a woman branded with a hot iron, and characters sawing off their own limbs or slicing off facial portions during rituals. Other unsettling imagery includes entrails and sinew displayed on serving platters as part of a grotesque ceremony."

Sounds Fking GLORIOUS

"slicing off facial portions during rituals"

That is extra tasty xD

robtion97d ago

Yep. Australia is a nanny state and not just when it comes to gaming.

toxic-inferno96d ago

It's not as bad as it sounds. This refusal is the result of an automatic process determined by an algorithm, based upon answers to an initial questionnaire. The next step is for the game to be assessed by an actual person.

Thank you. When I read this headline... I exploded lol

Eonjay96d ago

Sure... but if the title said 'Silent Hill f fails algorithm-based auto certification. Future Assesment Pending' you will not get the same reaction and level of clicks to feed your ad machines.

Glad I don't live in Australia I don't like people telling me no I can't buy that game because it's banned. People will still play it just by importing it.

Elantregaless97d ago

The usual racism against asian developers continue. Nothing to see here.

lukasmain97d ago

Do you see racism under your bed at night?

Vits97d ago

Nah, wouldn't call that racism.

Just Australians or at least their classification boards being some of the most puritan people in the world. Which is funny as hell, given the history of said country.

the fk u talking about ha.

u clearly have no idea what ur talking about

Profchaos97d ago (Edited 97d ago )

I think I write something to the effect of things are getting better over here and we hadn't seen a outright ban in years.... Well famous last words.

Thankfully consoles are region free

Eonjay96d ago

Your statement still stands. its just how the information is being told to you. Remember in 2025 game journalism is just the name of a tactic to get your click for add revenue. Nearly all of it is misinformation, incomplete information, or information taken out of context.

With this one they'll lose Silent Hill essence and make this a Fatal Frame game.

Not a fan of this direction.

Furesis10d ago

They really took that literally huh

gold_drake10d ago

what's that even mean.

nonenof the silent hill games have been particularly "japanese horror inspired"

fatal frame and Siren are absolutely that.

jznrpg10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Although not set in Japan and not based on Japanese lore it is a Japanese horror game. So was Resident Evil and all the other PS1/2 survival/horror games of the time made by Japanese companies. Some were set in Japan and some weren’t.

gold_drake9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

thats not the point

a japanese horror game and japanese horror are two different things.

VersusDMC10d ago

That is a dumb quote as you can easily google the inspirations for the original trilogy being western literature and movies.

Having said that i am still more excited for this Silent hill than any other silent hill after homecoming.

And If you're not into the style at least you know the silent hill 1 remake is on the way.

shinXseijuro10d ago

Most of the game under konami lost it’s essence a long Time ago . It’s great to know the focus shall be on making more quality game in the future .

jznrpg18d ago (Edited 18d ago )

I’ll probably end up buying every game on this list for myself besides Pokémon and Sonic but I may get those for my children.

franwex17d ago

Im glad the Japanese game scene is making a comeback! Right when the western one may be contracting.
