The director of EA and Hazelight Studios' action-adventure game, Split Fiction has responded to accusations regarding "feminism propaganda".

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "Like It Takes Two, Split Fiction will go on to be one of the Rosetta Stones against which any other specialized co-op game will be judged. How it measures up to Hazelight's previous is an exciting quandary all of its own. On the one hand, I may lean towards Two's more Toy Story-esque logic and the creativity derived from that; on the other, I don't anticipate anyone topping this spectacular finale for years to come (though I'll be ecstatic to be proven wrong). Even after its few storytelling missteps, or the rare case of platformer imprecision, all that mattered when the credits rolled was the absolute joy encased within this experience."

Maybe it's cause there's been a lot more focus on this "issue" but it's hard not to see this kind of weird increase of fem protags in games the past few years. Games that start with a male protag then have sequels with fem protags. And too often they're written as tryhards/arrogant. Ive had an issue with protagonists in general in games, hard to suspend my disbelief when a lone dood just guns down an army. Harder when it's some scrawny chick doing the same but as long as they ground their protagonist in the reality they're in I couldn't care less. I will say tho that I wish devs would make their protagonists something other than human, or humanoid (like Argonians, lizard head on an obvious human body is lame).
If you play as a female that makes it a piece of feminist woke propaganda?
What’s is wrong with people? The world we live in makes me sadder every day. What a complete non subject
I like that he takes no crap from anybody and makes creative and fun games. He says it as it is. I think the last 2 years it has become a hot topic. Gamers are sick of it, but we should also be careful to call every thing woke. Unfortunately we have been spewed with the wokeness. I'm all for strong female leads, Samus, Lara . Back in the day nobody would call them woke. I think it's more evident when your whole story etc. Revolves around it like Dragon age veil fart. A game
most people don't even want for free.
The anti-woke commentators have really found a financially lucrative grift. They make up some BS or call something "woke" and their rabbid hate filled fan base attacks then pays them in subs and ad revenue for the privilege of being lied to.
The guys from Sweden, so getting all this US right wing politics thrown at him must be a culture shock.
Ridiculous. The three games they have released so far have had 2 male protagonists, one of each, and then two females. They are telling a variety of stories that all feel organic. There is no ulterior motive whatsoever.
