PlayStation Blog: "Assassin’s Creed Shadows is just two weeks away and in anticipation of its March 20 launch on PS5, we’ve released 20 minutes of new gameplay showing Naoe and Yasuke infiltrating Nijo Palace, the castle complex (also known as a tenshu) in Kyoto, a major city in the larger region of Yamashiro."
Ubisoft has spilled the beans on Assassin's Creed Shadows' post-launch support, providing a roadmap for upcoming content.
There's actually quite a lot to get through. First off, there are some pretty big updates in the works, which aim to bring more story-related stuff and fan-requested features to the release.
I'll be picking it up as soon as the complete edition goes on a deep sale. I would buy their stuff day one if they didn't cut up their games into tiers.
HELL YEAH!!!!
Plenty of amazing and HIGHLY requests features on our way!
I can´t wait for Naoe´s new parkour skills, Bo Staff and Ultimate Hardcore difficulty on New Game +!!!
Two protagonists and a stunning setting—but does Assassin's Creed Shadows finally win over a longtime skeptic like me? Hmmm...

this game looks amazing. buying it day 1
I do like the ability to make both stealth focused. That's what I want in my AC games, not combat focused.
Looking really nice. Bought it 9 months ago too because I got such a good price 😂
Assassins creed of Tushima. XD Looking good though.
I haven’t really played the last few Assassin’s Creed games, so I’m not sure how much of this is new, but Shadows seems pretty refreshing! The movement looks a lot more precise and controlled. Not as slow as the older games, but also not as floaty as the newer ones. Just a nice balance.
The added stealth mechanics are a great touch too. Prone seems cool, and being able to cling to the ceiling and hide in the shadows gives me Splinter Cell vibes.
Another thing I really like is how dynamic the weather is. The way the sky changes and the trees start swaying when a storm’s coming creates such a strong atmosphere. And then, when the rain hits, it really sets the mood. I’m curious if weather will affect gameplay, like making ranged weapons harder to use in heavy rain.
I also like that the weapons don’t just do more damage but have perks that make choosing the right gear for each mission more meaningful. It makes me want to look for loot that’s perfect for certain enemies. It would be great if side missions near the main story rewarded gear that could help with boss fights.
Overall, it feels like the developers really enjoyed fleshing this one out instead of sticking to the same formula with a new setting. If it does well, hopefully, it’ll remind the industry of what game development is really about; the creativity and passion that first got people into the field. Maybe, just maybe, it’ll show management that giving developers more freedom is the way forward. It worked wonders for Cyberpunk, which saved the company, so who knows how Ubisoft might look at it.
