Ever 17 delivers a gripping, mind-bending narrative that showcases Uchikoshi’s signature twists and sci-fi intrigue.
VGChartz's Evan Norris: "In some ways, Ever 17 is an upgrade over its predecessor Never 7. It looks and sounds better, and its futuristic ideas and themes are more powerful. In other ways, it's less impressive. Its middle hours tend to drag and it lacks the charming slice-of-life elements that made the previous game so lovable. Still, if you're looking for a mysterious visual novel with shocking twists and provocative ideas about science, technology, and what it means to be human, you can't go wrong with Ever 17."
Legendary masterpiece. Getting the double pack with both games on a cart for my Switch OLED.
Michael Kitchin writes, "It's great to see Ever 17: The Out of Infinity released officially in English but, as a novel, it doesn't really hit its stride. There is a constant danger throughout the story but each day feels laboured. You spend most of the game away from the rest of the cast and that can make it hard to forge connections or a camaraderie. The new visuals are crisp and clear but the darker setting leads to a less colourful adventure. The story is still worth reading but it's not sticking with me after the credits roll."
MonsterVine: "Ever 17: The Out of Infinity returns with a remastered edition that preserves its clever sci-fi storytelling while modernizing its presentation."
