Sounds like a lot of that should’ve been in the day one patch

Normally this might be the case, but this game came out pretty polished to begin with. This just seems like extra icing. They could leave the game as is and it not be an issue.

Yes I'm all for criticizing devs where games launch in a truly broken state, but I don't want to take it to the point of actively discouraging them from seeking to improve games.

It wasnt polished, the glitches were glossed over. There were numerous reviews that mentioned losing hours of progress and being unable to advance quests but this seemingly didn't affect scores.

This is why I wait to buy the vast majority of games. It's usually worth it to wait for a 'complete' edition since day one seems to equate to 'early access' these days.

eeehm, if your game has that many bugs, maybe ...
deliever a game that doesnt have that issue in the first place

This website is just full of miserable people.

This just convinces me to not buy games for months or a year later when the game is truly "finished" thanks to a bunch of people paying to beta test for me.

People in the comments do not realize this upcoming "patch" wasn't meant for "day one". They have been using outside testers to comb over the game in every detail to provide input. The game was launched in a completed state. I bought it on launch and have had almost no issues. This "patch" is more of an add-on with fixes.
